They’ve turned on Mogga

If Carrick left would definitely have Mogga back. Despite some bad luck of late and lack of a CF Sunderland play some excellent football.
Absolutely no way. Effectively signing ourselves to no hope of promotion. I’d rather go up playing average football then playing well and finishing 12th. Mowbray done a respectable job here but he’s certainly just fits the bill as “ average “ for me

They have spent f*ck all. Also pretty much played all season without an actual CF.

Strange recruitment. I'm not sure it's all down to Mogga. It's laughable as only a few months ago they were raving about how he was 'working wonders' etc.

No different to our fanbase. Infact the fanbase of every club in the country. Opinions can rapidly change within weeks.

A win at the weekend they will all be back on the Mogga bandwagon.......

Fickle lot.

Getting to the playoffs last season probably wasn't the best thing to happen to them. Expectations have rocketed, but they still have a very young inexperienced squad, nowhere near good enough for promotion. And limited spending power.

After their few seasons in League 1, slow, steady sustainable progress would have been more beneficial. But hey, you have to laugh.

From page 94 onwards, this thread makes for brilliant reading 🤣

I know we have our fair share of whoppers, but that's hilarious.
6 games in and they're going in hard on how amazing they are.

Though I suppose plenty of us thought we were in serious trouble after 6 games too, so swings and roundabouts

Was good fun quoting some of those posts.

Tony Mowbray built a promotion winner team for Karanka for peanuts, took over from Strachan when the actual attendance in the stadium was about 10k.

We beat Sheffield Wednesday to go top on sky.

If he was given the cash he would have taken us up.

Karanka got loads of premier league loan players and was heavily backed.

Also this forum is named after him.

He should have a stand named after him. Legend.

A section of our fans turned on Carrick earlier this season. Fortunately the majority could see that we needed to keep him, and our recent upturn in form has made those fans crawl away. There are still issues at Boro, and Sunderland are no different. It’s just funny when it’s them up the road.

Mogga is a top human being and he is a decent manager. I hope he is back at Boro in some capacity in the future, but not as manager.

The problem with having Mowbray as head of football or director of football or whatever you want to call it is that it would put too much pressure on the head coach.

If we went on a bad run there would be half the fans clamouring for Mowbray to step in.

I think the model works better when the director of football is firmly in the background and is pretty anonymous to the fans.

Them sacking Mogga would be hilarious.

They really do have no clue.

Less than 2 years ago they were wallowing in League 1....fast forward, they've made profit on a few players, finished in the PO's and still in the PO hunt.

Their fan base are going the same way as the deluded idiots further up the road.
