There will be some goodbyes in this window

I think we may have seen the last of Jones, Crooks, Bola, Akpom, Fry and Fisher.

Let Scott and a Carrick do their thing to rebuild the squad and maybe even take a look at what Martin Payero has to offer the team.
Akpom has already had his contract extended by a year. Carrick confirmed that a while ago so he will be staying. I would be surprised if Jones went as he's not been as good a player as he was the season before and I think the summer will be big for him if Carrick can get him playing the way he wants to. I would be amazed if Fry leaves.

Fisher is in the final year of his contract I think.

What I think last nights result showed is how much we rely on Howson in midfield, I don't think Mowatt plays as well with Hackney. Howson just gets the job done to the point you don't realise he is doing it. Barlaser is getting more effective but he's had a stop start half season.

I would love to be able to keep Giles, and Ramsey. Not sure whats happened to Archer, he's been fantastic but off the boil the last few games like he was biding his time. All three have been key to our success. I can't see us keeping Ramsey and Archer, but Giles I think we have a chance with. Steffen I was unsure about, but he has been great for us by and large and he has already said he wants to leave City in search of regular football. I'd have him back here.

McNair was another I was unconvinced about, but in the first leg and for most of last night he schooled Gyokeres and kept him quiet. Was really impressed and I admit I was wrong about Paddy.

Forss looked tired but he's a fantastic threat out wide.

I can see us cashing in on akpom whilst his value is as high as it probably ever will be.

I’d have like to have seen him in smiths role once or twice.
We need better than Smith.

I would have thought Dijksteele would have been better in this side as he was good earlier on in the year but he's one of the few who seem to have went backwards.

I would even go Fry and Lenihan as CB's and McNair on the right, but understand him not wanting to do that with injuries and lack of cover.

Yeah, I wonder how many of the 15 that played a part last night, will be in the 18 man squad for our 1st game in August.

Steffen Giles Mowatt Ramsey Archer Muniz all sent back to their clubs.

Bola Fisher (McNair possibly) Jones Crooks all moved on, maybe a few more if the price is right.

I'm sure Carrick and the recruitment team, already have a plan in place, and a list of players they want to buy, loan and move on.

Busy summer ahead.

We were miles better last night when he replaced Mowatt. Hackney and Barlaser will be our central midfield next season, trust me. And it will be class.
Yeah, his first touch is always excellent and always wants to look to go forward and he's got the technique for any type of pass.

Hard to have him and Hackney in the centre midfield two this year, with Barlaser a new signing and Hackney's first year, but a summer will get them both on the same page hopefully. Hackney's got the ability, just needs experience and to think a bit smarter sometimes, but that will come too.

Not sure what Barlaser is like as a ball winner, and we need one in there, it doesn't seem to be his game, so Hackney might have to do more of that (and more cleanly), but he can do that once he gets coached a bit better on positioning and decision making, but experience will bring that on too.

i just dont see it with barlaser. He just seems like one of them nothing players. Came in at a great time when we were playing well and had a few cameo opportunities and a few starts. Everything should of been perfect for him to make an impact but hes so underwhelming, really disappointing. i cant see him being a big part of the squad moving forward.

Barlaser reminds me of jacob butterfield completely ineffectual in a championship battlefield
