Probably shouldn't have made the comment, but Mike Hind's constant need for publicity is tiring - he'll have wrote to the paper himself.

That's because you're not employing someone to trawl through a football message board to dig dirt on a bloke who has just beaten the 'yes man' in a local election.

I didn't see any of Dave Smith's obnoxious posts brought up when the child molester was elected. I wonder why that was?

He's been open about who he is, but obviously someone has trawled through his posts looking for dirt.

It's one of the things that would put me off doing such a role (amongst others) is that you'd have to go back to the history of the internet to think about what you'd posted and where in case someone goes looking for trouble.

I believe his profile picture shows who he is, and he made a post about running for the election a few weeks ago.

Don't quite understand the Hind thing. Surely if he's opening himself to an audience on social media, etc - then there's naturally going be a certain % of people who aren't that keen on him. Some will think he's great, others will find him irritating. But that's life, it's the same for...

His name is everywhere nowadays. I dont know the bloke never met him or had anything to do with him but he always seems to be doing stuff for charity, that big bloke who lost loads of weight didn't he do his food and train him for nowt, collects for food banks, Ukraine etc he seems alright, maybe a sound bloke or maybe a do-gooder doing it for publicity who knows. Sometimes when people who are alright, genuinely nice people and they get good press that winds people who do similar ventures and similiar charity work but don't get the praise they feel they have earned, it rubs people up the wrong way? Jealousy on show maybe?

I think we did from memory, but I also recall people saying they'd report it to the papers too.

Perhaps they did, perhaps they didn't but it did come out eventually.

It's genuinely sad to see that this is what the Evening Gazette has become. Trawling an internet message board for ammunition in the form of messages sent over 6 months ago...

With the constant stories about him and that Craig Harker bloke I don't even follow it on Facebook or Twitter any more. It's full of non-stories and clickbait sandwiched between invasive and annoying adverts.

Both councillors posted the articles being referred to before they were elected. Only one of them has had his posts used as a gossip item by a local rag. Stirring up trouble for one, not for the other. Why?
