Ref was a joke but was amazed he never gave that pen but haven’t seen a relay yet .

He went straight through the back of him. He had an awful game the ref.

Worst refereeing I've seen in a very long time. Largely against us, but also some against Sheff Utd also. Sheff Utd with a strong ref wouldn't have been able to deploy the dark arts repeatedly. I can't comment on the penalty until I've seen it again.

Whether the player had any intention of playing the ball is irrelevant for me, Jones kicked him, not the ball. If that was outside the area it is 100% given as a foul, we got lucky imho, you can’t go around kicking players in the penalty area, it is asking for trouble.

That said, Marriner has been an awful ref for……….. well ever. We should have had one too, it appears a far higher bar from some refs in the area as opposed to out of it, call me old fashioned, but i always thought a foul was a foul.

Looked like the contact was initiated by the sheff utd player to me by stepping into Jones, wasnt a directive released a couple of years back that says if that happens its not a penalty.
