Heard rumours that this Pub is closing down. Seems odd as it's always busy. Anyone else heard anything?

Seems a bit strange if true, as you say always busy. Especially now The Ship is ...whatever it is. I walk my dog past every few days so I've watched the thing going up in the old car park, and it's been years now.

I guess the Kings is a bit similar to the Welly, but it'd be a big shame if it went.

Kings has a more varied clientele than the Welly…

The Welly isn't closing. It is going up for lease. May or before.
But not closing. The present management are very keen to point this out.

Funnily I was thinking of this thread when I walked past this morning. They still have the Xmas decos up so I was wondering if it was closed, even if temporarily.

I thought the Reform Party met in the Half Moon. Was waiting for a mate in there a few months ago, and some of the conversations that were going on....

I was in last night - for food. Meanwhile quiz night was in full flow. Lots of quizzers in and also drinkers and eaters. Busy.
