The weekend beer and music thread

It will be a big test tomorrow at The Hawthorns against West Brom, let's hope we can take the much more positive display last weekend and push another notch forward and get our first 3 points of the season. Thankfully the window is nearly closed and hopefully we'll see 2 or 3 more signings before it closes.

I've been on holiday since Tuesday and it's been absolutely roasting getting up to 39 degrees on Wednesday, way too hot for a fair skinned Northern European like me. Thankfully I've been able to cool off witg a couple of Estrellas and regular dips in the pool with Mrs WG and the kids.



Given the heat though, I thought I'd start with an appropriate song...

Working until 8 then a rare 3 day weekend for me (usually work bank holidays and a Saturday or Sunday half the weekends) , so a couple of cans and maybe a couple more tonight

My last weekend in the Landes region before tidying the caravan away and putting it in hibernation. I can’t believe that is seven weeks gone but it is starting to look like Autumn here with the awning surrounded by leaves.

Today we’ve been out on the inflatable and took a few beers to keep the temperature down, although the temperature was only 24 degrees today. I find it hard to believe the small number of people on the lake or even on the edge. It certainly is the end of the season here.

Had a lovely poussin cooked on the barbecue with some homemade ratatouille, washed down with Vocation Crush Hour. Had Future Islands on the CD player in advance of Monday Night at the Town Hall; going with the other half and Little Jimmy. Really looking forward to it.
