Oh yeah, not taking anything away form Brighton, they are a class above. But, if Lenihan was playing, I don't think we'd be getting pulled all over like we are. This is a tough test and I think it shows we need another defender, McNair isn't up to it.

We are in big trouble if Lenihan is out for long. Clarke returning to what he was at previous clubs would be our only hope because McNair looks finished which is bizarre really.

We would be getting pulled apart regardless of Lenihan, these are a very good footballing team that have been regularly pulling apart far better teams than us.

Ah fair enough.. just thought it hit him from where I was.

This is turning into a good lesson for us. Against a team we really should be looking to emulate. Shows how much work we’ve got to do in the coming seasons.

Fair play to Brighton, they were drifting in the lower leagues not that long ago
 
Crooks looks like someone who has won a competition and is out there having a run about.

Really poor performance from us. We've given them so much time and space it is ridiculous. Smith and Forss have been 20 yards from Mitoma for the majority of the game.

You expect it with the difference in quality I can accept that, but we've played into their hands for the entire game.
 
The speed which they attack is way too much for us, as we found last time we were in the prem against most teams. we had our chances to get some more goals but unfortunately we need to take them all
 
Trouble is, we've got used to winning under MC. This is a different kettle of fish entirely.
 
Carrick has got the tactics all wrong today for me. I don't get why he has played the strongest side as this is demoralising. We should of played the more pacy players too in Bola hoppe watmore Jones and Archer
