* The unofficial "official" Boro v West Brom Match-day Thread and Programme *

Wilder's sticking his neck on the line a bit starting Connolly and Balogun again.

Hopefully it will pay off but he's left himself open for a bit of criticism if it doesn't.

Looks a good team, I was discussing on the way back up from Bristol If its written in the loan agreements to play connolly and balogun x amount of minutes.

Reckon he's gone Balogun and Connolly again out of necessity......with Sporar recovering from illness and Watmore's injuries being managed.

Not too happy with them two up front again, balogun tries to much fancy stuff (backheels etc) and Connolly is all over the place.

What was Sporars illness?

Can only hurt their confidence if they get dropped now. It was a failure as a team to win and the others don't get dropped. They consistency of playing every week is definitely helping done of the streakier players like Tav. Hopefully they come good soon. Balogun especially is very highly rated so there must be a player in there.

We don't need to score many goals to win tonight. 1 will probably be enough WBA are hopeless in front of goal.

My algorithm predicted a Boro win and under 2.5 goals.

Any idea how many minutes? It could cost us a play off place if they don’t improve soon.

The problem is, how long do you wait to drop them if they continue to not score? I obviously want them to bag goals, but this tactic could prove costly when you’re aiming for the playoffs

I wasn’t saying either of them is no good, but they are new to the squad and issues around confidence and consistency apply equally to Watmore ( and to a lesser extent Sporar)

I would have preferred Watmore and Sporar. The very least one of them.

I'm simply not convinced with either of the young loans.

Also the WBA side looks class. They have some great players. So despite the form it's a difficult match.

Completely agree
