Carrickball - it’s a wonderful thing
Just like Hakuna Matata
(There’s a song there somewhere)
Seriously though the football we are playing sometimes is beautiful to watch
Yeah, but to quote a bloke behind me in the 70th minute tonight.

“Nice tippy tappy football, but it goes nowhere”

Assuming he only rocked up at half time.

I can never understand that statement. There are prominent posters on here that say that about Man City and how their football is boring. Surely it is pure football compared to kick and rush.

Watch the football that surround Jones' goals, it is a pleasure to watch.

I’m not sure what to make of this game. Were we just really good, or were Preston just really bad 🤔 we seemed to have declared at half time and strolled through most of that second half - understandable in some ways with so many injuries and a big away game on Saturday coming up. Lots of good performances though, like from Van Den Berg in his true position, Bangura who looked comfortable at both ends of the field, and Crooks who seemed to be doing his best Glenn Hoddle impression in that first half, pinging precision through balls in like a man possessed. Leeds will be a much tougher prospect I’m sure but it was a very nice way to warm up for it 👍🏻

It was a standard second half, especially when a side is 3-0 up with the game dead.

Thought it was good game management and Preston never really pushed any buttons to go gung go and leave themselves open on the break.

You can’t score goals if you don’t have possession either. I don’t understand how people can’t enjoy some of the stuff we play. Especially given some of the dross we’ve watched over the years.

Thoroughly professional tonight. Second half had a training game feel to it, but hopefully it leaves us with fresher legs for Saturday

Its not always about possession: Leicester had plenty, but did b***r all with the ball.
Our shots / on target ratio is improving.

There were times when we would have a street party if we actually had a shot on target.
I recall a game against Birmingham under Karanka, where even the grass was falling asleep.......

A very professional performance tonight. Couldn't agree on a Man of the Match but I think that shows how well we played as a unit, particularly in the first half. More of that at the weekend please.

Delighted to see Matt Clarke get a few minutes too.

Was at work tonight... nearly screamed the place down when i saw the score on my tea break... fantastic looking forward to seeing the highlights
