* The Unofficial "Official" Boro v Preston [02/24] Match-Day Thread *

No idea how we’ve managed to lose that. Battered them for 85 mins. A mishit first shot that sneaked in and a deflected shot that fell for a tap in other than that we gobbled up the Preston .

I’ll get the negatives out the way first:
1 - glover
2 - RB is a problem whomever is there
3 - Hackney injury
4 - can’t keep a cleansheet
5 - desperate need of a striker

Positives are needed after that kick in the teeth of a result and there are some.

1 - Clarke had his best game in a Boro shirt, brilliant on the ball won everything off the ball
2 - decent partnership with rav
3 - Hackney and Howson dominate the middle
4 - Hackney was back to his best (hope that’s not a bad injury)
5 - McGree was excellent
6 - Azaz had his best game in a Boro shirt
7 - this team are 3-4 players away from being superb. If we had Riise tonight we would have won 5-0 to be honest

**** poor all around.

Apathy is beginning to settle in and we’re not even half way through February (cheers leap year).

The players look soft as *****, lose the ball and they’re like rabbits in headlights, stuck in mud not even trying to get back.

Think I’ll find something else to do at 3pm this Saturday because we are going to get an absolute spanking.

We were unlucky with their goals. But we can’t keep being unlucky without it meaning something needs attention.

Did you miss the part where Clarke gifted them the ball to make it 2-1?

Oh and that referee, pen on Forss, red card tackle on Howson, dirty challenge on Hackney all ignored

Imagine playing Greenwood and Silvera as a striker over Marcus Forss. F***ing disgraceful Carrick
Yeah I just don’t get it. When Jones comes back if he persists with Greenwood up front and chooses 1 of Jones or Forss for the right I’ll think he’s lost the plot.

I don’t hate Greenwood up front either by the way, he gets far too much stick on here but Forss is about as natural of a goalscorer as we’ve had in this league outside of Akpom. Seems to always get his shots on target, his technique is so clean when striking the ball.
