* The Unofficial "Official" Boro v Leicester Match - Day Thread *

Special mention for that great assist from Langford too…. he was woeful mind.

We win 1-0 and the ref still gets booed off by sections of the crowd, says a lot about his performance though.

Dishing out cards for time wasting for Boro when they probably didn't hear the whistle (I think Jones was playing dumb but Rogers genuinely didn't have a clue). Yet seemed to allow Leicester a free pass to kick us or climb over the back of us. Not having watched them much this season I was really surprised at just how dirty a side Leicester were.

I've said it in this thread but I was astonished with how clumsy and poor Faes was. The bloke next to him is quite clearly a waste of time but I thought Faes was supposed to be next level.

Absolute s****.

Soak it up. Enjoy and appreciate it. They were a good side today. They could have scored. Fine margins.

Defensively, we were really, really good.
Fry and Howson were everywere.

Two excellent saves, one from each keeper.

Then that free kick.

I think even Russell Crowe would have been entertained by that.

Agent Fox* did say they didnt like opponents being "in theire faces".
I think people will have looked at how we played our own game and taught them a lesson in what real football looks like in the Championship.
They couldnt cope with us being stuck to them and disrupting their cotton-wool passing and lovely cultured football - then breaking at 100 kmh and pulling them ragged.

Best result and most perfect game of footer under Carrick I`ve seen - happiest I can be, if we never win another game all season.
Top of the league - you`re avin a laff

Is this true?
According to the lad that told me he was signing in the first place. Apparently it’s written in the deal that he can be recalled in Jan and that is on the cards.

Completely trusting his info but he’s usually bang on with matters regarding Leeds

It really was one of those games where what ever the result it wouldn’t have been undeserved…

We didn’t seem to do enough to win and we weren’t tight enough to feel robbed if they’d scored… I felt a 0-0nwas going to be fair all round…

Ref had a stinker and I’m surprised many think jones was MOM.. i think he drifted in and out too much and doesn’t give RVDB enough support imho…I was also surprised when the guy behind me was slagging his son off..Hackney didn’t play his best tho..
I still hope Project Josh comes off, he really tried hard today and was unlucky not to score… corners are improving… my MOM was Fry, had a lot to deal with with dewsbury hall… I really want to see Latte Lathe have a run with Coburn, I think he will benefit from Josh’s hold up play…

It was great to come away from that game as winners… well done the team, and the atmosphere was rocking…

UTB…

I think that's fair comment. Dewsbury-Hall had a shot a similar distance out to Greenwood but hit the top of the South stand rather than the top corner, and there was a point in the second half when we seemed to want to play ourselves into trouble and Dieng had to make a great save, then they missed a few chances and hit the post.....it could easily have gone either way - Greenwood's strike was just out of this world, but we also did some clever stuff where the last pass didn't quite come off, and thought we'd finally scored from a corner but that must have been an incredible save from their keeper as I was expecting it to hit the net.

After the first five minutes I thought the ref was going to win it for them.
We played well.
Possession isnt everything and Leicester`s "shots" were flippin woesful - all over the shop - wide, high above the goal, into the clouds....schitt. Senny was brilliant - thats why hes our goalie.

Cracking result.
Agent Greenwood done a good job. [Thanks Leeds - buy him now}!

This makes absolutely zero sense if we have a £1.5m option to buy

Fits in with the cunundrum of Carrickspeak on Thursday:

There`s still a long way to go for all of us in this season, especially for us coming into December and January: how busy it is and how much progress you can make quickly. Its can go in the other direction, but we`re certainly looking up and looking forward to the challenges ahead.

Hes repeated many times its a relentless league, but why mention December and January particularly?
Has he got targets set for New Year?
Does he have plans for changes or incoming of personnel in the January window?
Are we looking at buying Greenwood, keeping him on loan , or if he is recalled - do we have another attacking midfielder / forward in mind....or one in mind already, regardless?

Genuine question, why does it?

Season long loan with an option to buy, parent club able to terminate the loan in January if needed/desired…

Makes the £1.5m option a decent bit of business for Leeds. If he’s successful get him back in Jan with minutes under his belt, if he doesn’t pull up any trees then get £1.5m for a player that isn’t going to get them/play for them in the prem
