* The Unofficial "Official" Boro v Huddersfield Match-Day Thread *

Bad day at the office but our pound shop pundits will be tearing this game apart and blaming team selection or keeper error or something..

All we can do now is let MC sort their heads out, get them ready for Burnley and start again…

We’re all shocked let’s not turn this into a witch hunt..

Need to make sure we get in the play offs.

Catching Sheff U was probably always a bridge too far after Wilder.
This.

Wilder's mess left us with no room for error. We've had to run hot for ages just to close the gap on second and make things nip and tuck.

Today's performance was desperately dissapointing, but most sides will suffer a coupon busting result like this during the course of a season.

I fully expect a response on Good Friday, UTB!

The issue to me isn’t the defeat it’s conceding 4 goals to a rank poor team, this sort of defensive fragility can be exposed against better teams, they’ve also got the blueprint how to do it.

The fact is some of our players are **** weak and get bounced off the ball way too often by stronger hungrier players. Putting McNair in instead of Fry also compounds the issue; hopefully we don’t see it agin unless due to injuries!

Michael Carrick got that selection wrong today. Why he started Mcnair over Fry against a Warnock side is baffling. Did he clearly under estimated the opposition? Then at half time what he say to the lads all we had to do was not concede yet we capitulate embarrassing

If carrick could play the game again would he leave fry and mcgree on the bench, I don’t think so. Mcgree was a key player for the Preston win, no surprise we struggled to pick the lock in the first half, didn’t help that archer was poor too mind

Our disallowed goal - was it because their players complained or something else? The ref gave it based on his watch saying it was over the line.

Surely you can see mcgree was about fitness and travel fatigue.

Bizarre game of football. Struggled to break em down first half and fell apart second. Whilst were clearly a top technical team I do wonder about our mentality and resolve at times. I'd like to see a little less trying to play the game the right way and a little more grit and aggression.

That way if the technique doesn't work you can always grind out a result.
Our mentality this season has been excellent we have came from behind many times. We have also grinded out results.

Cant really explain today apart from we completely lost control and took our eye off the ball.

Not (yet) just by beating us though. Depends on Luton not winning at Millwall in the lunchtime game too.
Yes they'll know by the time the game starts whether the win will get promotion by beating us. Sobering thought that Luton could be 3 points clear of us before we kick off our next game.

To be fair, Ramsey did well, i say that as a big Mcgree fan, it may be Mcgree was jet lagged possibly. Fry was the bigger omission today for me.
