* The Unofficial "Official" 23/24 Championship Season. Boro v Millwall Match-Day Thread *

We seem too predictable at the minute. It's not just missing Giles' early deliveries but it's missing Smith on the right hand side as well. Last season it was less predictable, we may work the ball inside, or we may swing it in any time the ball goes out wide. Much harder to defend against. This season we just seem to work the ball back inside over and over again.

It's not worrying me too much though. We're missing important players. A lot of the new signings look good.

Barlaser is disappointing me though, his decision making is letting him down.

Barlasers been our best player for me, the only one looking up and trying to do anything with the ball. Crooks, McNair and McGree have been far worse.

Don't agree with that. He's trying things but he has overran the ball more than once and gave the ball away most of the times he's tried to move it forward. It's hard for either Crooks or McGree to do anything if the passes never reach them.

They are both too static and not moving around, if they were we’d have passes on but they don’t. They are coming short to him constantly.

I said that just as McGree gave the ball straight to them.... I think the "first game of the season" assessment is correct. We look a little disjointed.

Dieng looks very good with the ball at his feet. Perfect replacement for Steffan.

How many seasons until there's as many on the bench as in the starting line up?
The Laws of the Games already allow up to 15 substitutes on the bench. It's up to the competition organisers how many can be named and how many can be used - up to a maximum of 5 in "an official competion" during normal time.
