The Traitors - S3 **Potential Spoilers**

I think the biggest problem I have with the show, is that there’s no actual benefit for banishing the traitors at the round table. As a faithful you need to survive murder or banishment.. As banishing traitors, just gets them replaced. So the key is working out who the traitors are for the end
I think one of the benefits to consider is if you banish a traitor, it means there is less of a chance that you will be murdered.

The more faithfuls, more chance someone else will be murdered other than you.

It does seem that way but you have to have someone completely change the way they behave and nobody notice. In the first episode nobody knows anyone well enough so noticing behavioural changes is harder when you have no baseline. Should make it easier to keep finding traitors.

I can see that could be the case. However through all the seasons, its never really happened.

The problem with that is it is only temporary. The numbers of contestants needs to be reduced, so as long as it is not you being murdered or banished it serves little benefit either way

The original Traitors are the hardest to spot. Recruited traitors may change their behaviour or give themselves away through mistakes. There are fewer competitors in the game as it progresses so it is harder to remain under the radar. So it is always in the interests of the faithful to identify and banish a traitor

I do wonder if they should run a season where traitors aren't replaced. Surely that would ramp up the paranoia and distrust even further which would lead to even greater viewing imo 🤣

If you look at the rules of the game, and the way it's played - then it's all flawed.

The thing that makes it compelling is human tendency to create a narrative to try and fit their thoughts/beliefs. They are always talking about "evidence" and "the people I can trust" when in reality there is no actual evidence, and you can't trust anyone because they're all playing the same game. It's all just conjecture and gut feelings and building relationships. It's fascinating, but greatly flawed, and I love it!

The thing that is getting on my nerves this series is all the tears. FFS, it’s a TV game, you’re all getting free board and lodge and playing for big money (and, no doubt, youtube points). If you are that sensitive don’t enter and just watch it on the telly like the rest of us!

Everyone's at my work has been banging on about watching this. I tried, I really did but this has just put me right off.

I've never watched any of the other series so maybe I just picked a bad one?

Whilst I am enjoying this season, last season was amazing and the first was very good too because it was new. As has been said on this thread, everyone is more familiar with the game now, which always has an impact.

I was thinking exactly the same. Appreciate the program is edited, but last night people saying stuff like "they're in a coffin" and "they've been through a lot". No they haven't! It's a bloody game and the coffin just a wooden box! FFS.

Haha. Said the same while watching. They thought Alexander was a traitor because he didn't overreact after being let out of the box. He's a grown adult playing a game and understands he wasn't in an actual coffin or at any risk and it was 12 hours since he avoided being murdered (and he was probably only put there 2 mins before the cars showed up). If anything the girl acting like she had just been saved from death seems more suspicious to me.

He's also a former diplomat, so I'm sure he knows a thing or 2 about getting himself out of a difficult situation without over reacting

The majority of the contestants are spectacular idiots this year. God knows where they find them but they plainly walk among us.

Leanne's rationale re:Alex was that, when leaving the coffin, "he had just found out he had not been murdered". No, he found that out roughly 12 hours earlier if you actually listened to him.

The inability to understand simple comments or instructions, and process basic information, has led them to some wild theories and repeated failure. The producers must be tempted to lock the doors and just leave them there.

Yeh, got to admit some of the contestants this year are thick as pig ****.

I think Minah might have f**ked it for herself with that recruitment. She's starting to get some heat - and she's gone and recruited one of the faithful who were pointing fingers at her. I wonder if Charlotte is happy to continue drip feeding that theory that Minah is a traitor, to throw her under a bus when the time is right.

I feel like Jake is the man to be murdered tonight too. He's just basically proved he's a faithful and I highly doubt he'd be banished.

He is who she should have recruited. Sticking to only recruiting female traitors will bite them if someone spots the pattern.

I also thought this too...but he's got everyone convinced he's a faithful, that I think Minah would be a very weak traitor alongside him. He would be able to convince the group she's a traitor, more than Minah could convince them Jake was a traitor.

I think Minah should've recruited someone who has a bit of heat, to then divert the attention to them, and if/when they get banished, it should ease her a little.

I do agree that this 'sister hood' nonsense is her downfall.
