Are going to be dangerous because whoever it is are going to have to go on a run to take that spot so are going to be on form going into the play offs.
Looking at the fixtures for the different teams I have a sneaky suspicion that West Brom might sneak in.

Quite a few in the mix.. more a game of chance at this point. Boro at worst are the 2nd best team in the championship.

A slightly dark cloud on the horizon is Luton v Boro... we go down there & win... kind of has portents of Leicester v Boro in the league before we played them in the Carling final... Juno was immense & we won the league game, O'Neill man marked him in the final & we lost..

I know we have no Juno in this squad & with all respect to Robbo & recognising Carrick is not a season into his Boro reign I'd feel more confident of MC making better pre & in game decisions.. Robbo was inspirational though could also lose himself in the drama of the moment..

Not necessarily.

There’s 4 points between 6th and 12th places. I can see all of these teams getting points here and there but losing games in between. A few of them play each other as well, so points will be dropped quite a lot.

I reckon it will be decided on the last day, we will play a part in it with Coventry trying to squeeze in as well.

Dark cloud on the horizon? It’s just another game.

I fancy Coventry to sneak in too, makes the last game at the Riverside interesting, can see plenty of cov fans making the journey to boro .

Imagine if we don't play particularly well on the last day, allowing Cov to pip Sunderland for a playoff spot.

The mackem meltdown would be a thing of beauty.

Relax, don’t over think it

It really doesn’t matter who finishes where and who we play

At our best we will win the play offs
Below our best and we probably won’t

And the bit about ‘teams on a run’ doesn’t matter. Runs end and start all the time.
If we are cack from now to the play offs, still make then start a run - all will be well.

Not if it's Luton.

I think a bigger risk is performing like we did down there and getting stuffed. It has happened before and I still shiver everytime I think about how Stephen Pears's Boro career came to end.

We just need to concentrate on ourselves. If we have our best players available and they perform, we'll take some stopping.

If we can get the playoff spot wrapped up with a couple of games to spare it might give us a slight edge as we won't need to risk anyone carrying a slight knock etc. It'll give anyone carrying an injury a chance to fully recover.

Although, that aside, we obviously need to still be playing our strongest side possible and taking any dead rubbers seriously to ensure we stay sharp.
