The referee today Tony Harrington.

Btw refs is not an exact science and therefore based on the balance of probability as the only thing a ref use when he can’t possibly see it.

That was a pen.

Var is different but we don’t have var in the championship

He used personal opinion to not give that pen nothing else as in real time the majority would have said it was a pen.
I've not seen the highlights but I thought McGree kicked the other player and it was never a penalty in real time from where I was sitting. Other players didn't really appeal either.

From the moment I woke up this morning I've felt that something wasn't right. A really strange uneasy feeling. Haven't been able to shake it all day. Think I've figured out what it is. Crooks didn't get booked yesterday.

I know, I stuck a tenner on him to get booked too.

If I do that every week he'll be an ever present this season.

The fact the we all needed to see it in super slo mo, to me means it’s a pen.

As all the ref did was guess he had no idea he guessed got lucky.

In real time that’s a pen

Ergo it’s a pen.

TBF I didn't think it was a pen in real time; it looked like he got the ball from the West upper.

However, if the refs not sure, he's right not to give it. I don't know if he saw the contact on the ball, or just wasn't sure, but either way he was right.

You do realise there’s a reason why they have the referee on the pitch, keeping up with play, rather than have him sitting in the stand or watching at home on TV?

The ref gets a completely different (usually better and always closer) view of incidents in real time than the rest of us. That’s why, when there are contentious decisions during the game, the referee will generally get more of those correct than the fans.

You mean Mcgree which he got right
Could have gone either way, yes he got a toe on the ball, but he didn't clear the ball, it was still strikeable for McGree. Was there contact after that touch on the ball, yes, did the contact get instigated by Livermore, yes, did interfered with McGrees ball strike, yes, did it trip the player, yes.

It absolutely could be given, the fact Livermore got that touch meant it could be given either way, but the claim that it wasn't a penalty simply because of the touch isn't the rules of the game. It never ceases to amaze me that ex-pros don't know the nuances of footballs rules.
