* The Original Unofficial "Official" Boro v Luton Match-Day Thread *

Seeing Ramsey in a protective boot the other day didn't look good. Non committal about Mcgree and Fry has been missing a while. I think McNair, Smith and Forss are the most likely to be available. Shame as although Hackney has filled in well on the LHS and Mowatt and Barlaser are good options now, McGree and Ramsey give us something extra.
On the game tonight, wasn't a penalty but we need to take some of our half chances. Normally we create quite a few big chances, but in tight games, which the play-offs are likely to be, you need to take some half chances. Crooks had a coupled, which we need to put at least one away, in case you get a bad decision like the penalty.
Automatic promotion was a bit of pipe dream, but onwards and upwards for the play-offs.
If Chuba had played we would have won tonight

I'm very confident after last night, makeshift team outplayed a full strength Luton, undone by a very bad ref decision, us at somewhere near fill strength would beat Luton.
Lots of positives and reasons to be cheerful this morning.

Stuff like that is why I'd rather have VAR than not, for whatever issues people have VAR, pathetic sh*t like that gets overturned ASAP.
Could though, VAR have potentially given that because the cheating barsteward left his leg trailing for a tiny bit of ‘manufactured’ contact (minuscule) and therefore VAR might consider it effecting his momentum ?

Ridiculous I know but given some of the decisions made by VAR this season I’m not confident VAR would’ve made the ref go and look at the TV again.

This is the new scourge of footballers; manufactured’ contact with them letting their leg trail behind them selves which is in an unnatural position and surely VAR should start to cotton onto this and start sending players off or booking them instead of giving penalties!

Jones was like he’d never been away and barlasser finally looked settled in that side.
I stood down near the front for the second half, right in front of our right flank, specifically to watch Jones. He was superb last night. His meg running at a full sprint was a joy to behold. He then skinned 2 of their players and was calttered across the jaw with a forearm. He did however, leave them in his wake. Great performance from him.

I think Carrick may play Jones in the last 2 games to see if he is ready for the playoff finals. I would think, at the minute, he still sees Jones as a less safe option than Forss, given his time out.

Some of those runs and crosses second half showed him back to his last season form, Giles also terrified them down the left. Archer or Akpom on the pitch and I’m sure we bury of those. Crooks’s finishing usually his strong suit, but a rare off day last night.
