The Linthorpe Hotel

I first ventured in there as a 15 year old, and continued till I was 19 and left Boro. Some belting nights in there- Roy wasn't overly happy about me telling him I was celebrating my 18th given how he'd known me for a few years...... My ban lasted minutes and he let me off with paying for a round :) It was a proper boozer the Linny, and great at XMAS and new years eve.
 
I lived in a house on Roman road directly opposite the Linny in the 90s.

Served horrible beer. Only went in there twice. Used to walk up to Southfield road instead.
 
Tony Day used to be a regular in Middlesbrough Green Lane Cricket Club when Yorkshire played county matches there, but that all ended back in 1996.
Incidentally, the MFC speedy right winger Billy Day was his brother of course.
