I first ventured in there as a 15 year old, and continued till I was 19 and left Boro. Some belting nights in there- Roy wasn't overly happy about me telling him I was celebrating my 18th given how he'd known me for a few years...... My ban lasted minutes and he let me off with paying for a round It was a proper boozer the Linny, and great at XMAS and new years eve.

When our theatre pub was closed for refurb back in the 90's, we used a place that served this as a back up. Absolute jungle juice!

There was Ayingebrau and Ayingebrau Prinz. It was the latter that was the rocket fuel.

I lived in a house on Roman road directly opposite the Linny in the 90s.

Served horrible beer. Only went in there twice. Used to walk up to Southfield road instead.

Monday and Tuesday nights outside in the summer in the 80s were great...a proper posers paradise. Remember the hippies/bikers going chicken oriental every time 'Whole Lotta Rosie' was played on the juke box.

Tony Day used to be a regular in Middlesbrough Green Lane Cricket Club when Yorkshire played county matches there, but that all ended back in 1996.
Incidentally, the MFC speedy right winger Billy Day was his brother of course.
