Could tonight see either of the two Managers get the push tonight?
Leciester look most likely - their fall to rock bottom goes against relative successes and performances - since winning the Premier League title in 2016 and the FA Cup. As we know today - Boro sacked Wilder......Rodgers is on borrowed time for far worse results. The rumours are that Leicester cant afford to pay off Rodgers...?!

This could be one big night for either or both Steve Cooper and Brendan Rodgers.

Rodgers took Leicester to the Foxes first F.A. Cup win and Steve Cooper dug Trees out of the mire, after Boro got Hughton the sack.
Leicester have a defence which just cant hold the points. They`ve been ahead on several occasions, but fall to bits in the second half. They dont concentrate or just switch off.

Brendan Rodgers has a real dilemma on his hands: the Foxes chairman, in a recent match programme, put his thoughts on the season and the state of the clubs current finances to the fans.

His company was hit badly by covid and Leicester, in spite of good recruitment, havent had the money to buy in players. Some clearly need to move on.

Cooper, on the other hand, has reportedly spent £160,000,000`s and brought in 23 players, including Dean Henderson, Morgan Gibbs-White and Jesse Lingard

Trees had a number of important loanees to help lift them up from the Championship, but Forest are finding it hard this season to get used to the Premiership, particularly with so many new players. This is a huge test for Cooper, with a substantial investment from the owner. If this season goes t*ts up, Forest may have to pay the consequences of taking a big financial risk. Lets see.

Forest and Leicester are holding up the rest of the Premiership.

Foxes - From The Forest

Matt Davies, from Nottinghamshire Live, has pointed to both promising and alarming signs from Nottingham Forest's first seven games back in the Premier League.

- Nottingham Forest visit King Power Stadium to tackle Leicester City on Monday (8pm kick-off)
- Matt Davies, from Nottinghamshire Live, has previewed that East Midlands clash
- He believes Forest have quality in their squad but need time to gel
- Steve Cooper welcomed 22 new signings at the City Ground after winning promotion

A largely reconstructed Forest squad, under the management of Steve Cooper, have won one of their opening seven fixtures after 23 years away from the Premier League. Successive 3-2 home reverses to AFC Bournemouth and Fulham – the other promoted sides – have set alarm bells ringing too, believes Davies.

Speaking to LCFC TV last week, Davies said: "Certainly, Forest started the season pretty tidily, and it looked like there were promising signs, but now it’s four defeats in a row and consecutive home defeats against teams they came up with having blown a half-time lead when they looked fairly comfortable.

"There’s been some alarming signs and it feels like a massive game and a chance for both teams to try and get their seasons going again. There’s been good stuff from Forest and there’s been times when you’ve thought it’s going to be a really promising season.

"I think back to West Ham (1-0 W) at home and Spurs at home (0-2 L) and Everton away (1-1 D). They looked good and they were solid. Obviously, Man City was tough, losing 6-0, but that’s difficult for anyone to go there.
Steve Cooper

Steve Cooper has transformed Forest but another huge challenge awaits him this season.
"The last two games have been concerning in terms of the naivety they’ve shown defensively and the goals they’ve let in in quick succession.

"It feels inevitable, having signed 22 players, that there isn’t that collective experience of being in the trenches together when the chips are down, and we’ve seen that in the last two matches. It’s a bit of cliché but the first goal feels massive and how Forest will respond to any form of adversity because I think Forest fans will appreciate the quality of player Leicester still have even though they have struggles of their own."

Forest made headlines this summer when they welcomed 22 new faces through the doors at the City Ground. Davies felt it necessary to explain the context of that summer spending spree, while also highlighting some of the players which may cause Leicester problems on Monday.

"There’s certainly some misconceptions around the signings, in terms of the volume of them," he added. "Coming out of Wembley, that team lost five loan players, the goalkeeper (Brice Samba) left, the captain Lewis Grabban left… the core of the team was ripped out.

They do need some results quickly but obviously we could say the same about Leicester. When you’re at the bottom of the league, you need start picking up some points now.
Matt Davies Nottinghamshire Live

"The squad which came up, without any of the signings, was pretty much six or seven players and the youth team. There needed to be a major reconstruction.

"Everyone expected double figures of signings, but nobody will have expected 22. We can’t say they did and some of the signings you feel might be a step too far, but there certainly needed to be an overhaul.

"I don’t think Forest fans expected the quality of players on paper that have come in. There was a lot of fanfare around Jesse Lingard. Emmanuel Dennis has a good season last year. Remo Freuler isn’t someone who’s particularly well known on these shores, but he’s done really well at Atalanta.

"There’s a lot of good players on paper, it’s just gelling them as a team, and I think it's inevitable that we’ve had these growing pains.

"They will probably continue and you just hope, from a Forest point of view, that they get enough results to stick with the current manager and not make an ambitious owner a bit twitchy and make a change. I think Forest fans would be really disappointed if Steve Cooper were to depart.

"They do need some results quickly but obviously we could say the same about Leicester. When you’re at the bottom of the league, you need start picking up some points now."

I'm not sure Mr Cooper insisted on 23 players and the money spent it seems like it has been thrust on him. Forest to get a schlonking tonight and Sir Steve to be talking to Mr Cooper by the end of the week regarding a vacancy.

Kiernan Dewsbury - Hall

Born in Nottingham - grew up in Shepshed, near Loughborough, in Leicestershire.
Kiernan, now 24, joined City in 2006 [aged 8]. He is one of Leicesters key players and is a skillfull midfielder. In 2020 he made 10 appearances for Blackpool on loan and the next year made 39 appearances for Luton Town.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has called upon Leicester City's players to create history in Monday's East Midlands grudge match with Nottingham Forest.

- Midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall previews the first Forest top-flight encounter since 1999
- The Foxes star says he and his team-mates have a chance to make history
- He also challenges City to rise to the occasion and showcase their talents on Filbert Way

For the first time in 23 years, the Foxes face the Reds in the Premier League, the first-ever top-flight encounter at King Power Stadium. The 2022/23 season, however, hasn't been what either side will have hoped for so far, with each occupying a place in the bottom three.

Dewsbury-Hall sees Monday's Filbert Way clash as an opportunity for Leicester to reset the momentum of their season against rivals Forest.

"I was only just born when the previous [Premier League] fixture happened," City's No.22 told LCFC TV. "In my lifetime, in the Premier League, I've never known it to happen. As a young lad growing up in Leicestershire, I know how important this derby is to the fans. I've grown up in that environment.

This is a game where you can create a bit of history, a bit of folklore in the Football Club, and that's what you crave as a footballer.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

"We've not been able to experience it in the top flight so it'll be a special feeling. This is a game where you can create a bit of history, a bit of folklore in the Football Club, and that's what you crave as a footballer. You want to have your name etched in history."

The Shepshed-raised midfielder knows all too well that the game will be a tense on Filbert Way - and he can't wait for the challenge.

We've got a really, really good squad and we need to show that now. We want to just, from minute one, be on the front foot, not let the opposition team in for a minute.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

"It's a massive game, everybody knows that, and it's going to be fiery," Dewsbury-Hall added. "There's going to be heart-on-your-sleeve moments. I'm definitely looking forward to it, I'm chomping at the bit to get going.

"It's a big jump up [to the Premier League] and we know we've got the players to [win]. We've got a really, really good squad and we need to show that now. We want to just, from minute one, be on the front foot, not let the opposition team in for a minute.

"Hopefully that will contribute to us getting three points which, at the moment, would be a massive thing."

TEAM NEWS - Forest

Steve Cooper has revealed that defender Scott McKenna is a doubt for tonight's trip having returned early from Scotland's Nations League camp last week.

The Scot featured twice for his country before missing the final fixture against Ukraine in Poland due to injury, with Cooper admitting he may have to be without the 25-year-old on this occassion.

"Scott’s a doubt having had to withdraw early from the Scotland camp, so with regards to Monday, we’re still not sure whether he’s going to be available for that.

“But the guys who stayed with us, and those who have come back from international duty are all good to go."
