I appreciate your sentiment, but a week ago we had a 29 man squad without the U21 squad.

Dieng, Rogers, Jones
Dijksteel, Smith, Ayling
Thomas, Bangura, Engel
McNair, Van Den Burg, Fry, Lenihan, Clarke
Howson, Hackney, O'Brien, Barlaser
Crooks, Azaz, Greenwood, Gilbert
McGree, Silvera, Jones, Forss
Latte Lath, Coburn.

The club sold Crooks, but still have 28 First Team Men.

The squad is very large.
It has been massively impacted by late recruitment, international tournaments and also injuries where there has been some bad luck (maybe there is more to it, but none of us know that).

I think there is quantity, but not nearly the quality required to be top 6, let alone challenge for automatic.
Add in the absentees and it is grasping for any quality to get out on the pitch.

Team information out into fans websites the day of the game. Big deal.
 
The squad definitely needs trimming over the summer.

But I think the number of injuries has meant we’re carrying more players than we would normally choose to.

We’ve got 7 full backs including Coulson. 8 if you include VDB who can cover there. That’s just mental.

Out of that squad only the following are good enough for a tilt at the playoffs and only RVDB has been available for at least 2/3 of the whole season.

If it is a player should be sold asap. No room for bad eggs in the camp.
