Big thread on Facebook by some dumbcluck Forest fan declaring that Forest should have first refusal on Spence, and get this, if he goes elsewhere, they deserve a percentage of any transfer fee for their role in his development. Apparently Cooper is solely responsible for his development.

And there's other pillocks from the East Midlands agreeing with him.
 
Well we should have a share of their europan cups & league one trophy, we'll leave them with the ASC as we won it the year before
Cloughy & Taylor were born & raised in the Boro & played for the Boro, surely we made them the men they turned out to be, those trophies are half ours 😉
 
Are they going to get a 9 year old to write a personal letter to Steve Gibson, saying Forest will not exist as a club if we don't do what they want?

Seriously though they have done us an enormous favour, if he'd have stewed under Warnock we would have got a fraction of the talked about fee.
Thank you Forest but he's our asset and it's our money and boy do we need it.

Forest have had their "cut": it came in the form of Djed's performances.

I'm not against the retrospective renegotiation of contracts though. I think Forest should get a cut of Djed's fee, maybe about £5million. However, they should also have to pay an increased loan fee for the quality of performance they've had this season. Around £5 million should cover it.

More seriously, it does expose a reason I'm none too keen on loans. You are just developing players for other clubs.
 
Living round here you really get the impact Djed has made whilst at Forest. The selling thing was meant very much tongue in cheek and one of the lads I know was saying if Forest get some payment for helping develop Spence then Boro will come back with a compo claim for the disaster that was Britt!!! One also said not only should Forest get some of the money should we sell Spence, but also some of the money should we sell Jones because without Forest taking Spence on loan, Jones would not have broken through and so we should be even more thankful to them :)

The forest fans I know are also desperate for us not to make the play offs as they know if they play us then Spence can't play and without him they are pants, the really do think he is the player that holds the team together!!!
 
Without Spence, Forest would have likely gone out of the cup to Arsenal and have around 10 points less in the Championship - that is their dividend
