The King has cancer

You have some issues if you think your being attacked. You come on a thread about someone with cancer and started with your anti monarchist views..... clearly posted above as pointed out. I didn't say "lots of other agree" stop misquoting me, I said "seemingly others agree" given that the post I was referencing had been like by others.

You haven't had your character assassinated, or attacked. You came on a thread about someone with cancer spouting anti monarchist views, chipping away until you went all out. You stated it was your right to post it and I am free to ignore. I said it was my right to call you out on it... if your going to air your views, they are free to be ridiculed, as I seen you post elsewhere on this forum. If you think that, are you not attacking other posters or character assassinating them? Or is that a different ball game when you pull others up?

Posted twice already the wall to wall coverage has stopped, not sure why you keep mentioning it.

Have a good day.

I didn't say attacked I said personalised, which you have, I highlighted where it was about me, not the subject of my post.

Many of my posts have been liked by others, whats your point? You want to create an image that I'm in a minority, that's not the case, but why would someone do that and then claim they aren't personalising an attack.

You, you, you.....personalisation again.

I haven't personally attacked anyone.

the wall to wall coverage hasn't stopped in all quarters by the way.

I thought you were leaving it, clearly you can't/won't.

Have a nice day

Like I said, you've just proven how any straying from the narrative is a personalised attack. Following it with hypocrisy about my offence, when you are the one being offended at my comments and then personalising attacks is not uncommon when challenging the status quo, in my experience.

By the way, line counting, you do realise that line length changes depending on the width of your window? 10 lines to you is 5 lines to me. Pot-ay-toe, Poe-tar-toe

This thread exists because of the media coverage, it's part of the story, no ranting or getting worked, just amusement at how you are proving me right.

Good luck to him in his health battle, but jees, lets hope the wall to wall coverage will end soon, let him get on with his battle in private now.

That look like it says attack to me, misquoting me again, and yourself.

All the best

Yes it was and I am also free to state what I did, seemingly others agree. I won't ignore someone derailing a thread which was solely about someone having a cancer, the rant you have posted above reflects nothing about the initial concept of the thread except your anti monarchy beliefs, which you could see have been inching out post by post until full explosion
Boromart more than anyone will have sympathy for someone with cancer. My family is going through it too. It is just the ridiculousness of how this person needs wall to wall coverage because he’s ill. He’s just another human being like everyone else.

the bbc are excelling themselves. he disappeared from the main headline briefly yesterday, but has stormed back with "king due to speak to pm - on phone!"

We don't have a bicycle monarchy though, like it or lump it, and we are supposed to care about him more than everyone else, 'by the grace of God'.

I expect to hear a lot more about his battle, but I do wish him well.

I probably sounded a bit cold hearted earlier in the thread, but I wish him well too. I’m an empathetic person normally, but I admit that I start to lose that a bit when it’s for someone that I’m expected to bow to.

You're not the only one, but I don't think anyone will be truly rejoicing at this. Apart from maybe that acid/alkali thrower, whose now been wiped off the front pages.

People asking why others need to bring up their anti-monarchy views at this time it's because when something big about the royals it's in the news it captures the most attention. It's not too dissimilar to the way that Charles is able to use his diagnosis to spread awareness for the disease.

Every time there is something bad that happens to the royals people say "stop with the anti-monarchy stuff at this time while the king is ill, queen is dead etc" and then when there is a good event like a coronation it a wedding they are told "stop ruining everyone's celebrations, just let them have their day".

There's never a convenient time and that's what they want. They want it to never be discussed and the only time it gets the attention it deserves is when they are the main news story.

There's a huge difference between wishing ill of someone and talking about the role they play in society. I'm sure we all see the human side of things and wish him well even if we disagree with the concept of having a monarchy. I don't see why others can't accept that the discussion about his role and his health are two separate things and can be discussed simultaneously.

As has been said, wish him all the best in his personal battle but no moreso than anyone else suffering. I do find it hard to find a great deal of sympathy for someone who's spent his life lambasting servents and should I ever meet him and wish him all the best without bowing and showing gratitude for his presence would likely offend him for the audacity of not being wooed by his presence.

They're people, wealthy, selfish, crooked people.
