The Geordie love in has begun

Have had a bad run of fixtures and they are better off than before the start of them, lots more winnable fixtures coming up ,+ unfortunately the transfer window opens, unless they collapse totally before the new players have had a little time to get used to the squad they will stay up.

Really enjoyed the game. J. Linton stood out. I think I dislike Ronaldo more than newcastle at the moment so felt strange cheering on the geordies. It's only footy tho.

They're only better off because the teams around them haven't played.

They were on 10 points at the start of December, they're on 11 at the end of it.
They've won 1 game in half a season, and it was against another team in the relegation zone.

If Burnely win one of their 4 games in hand then they are worse off than before their tough run of fixtures, likewise for Watford and their 3 games in hand.

They had their two best players go off injured tonight too.

But they not down and out like many people expected them to be, they are still there and we are hoping the club's above them win their games in hand which they might but isn't a definite. The Geordies have games coming up against most lower placed teams if they get good players in who settle quickly they could get a lot of wins, I don't expect them to wait untill the end of the transfer window to get bargains in, they will pay over the odds and get them in early.

The jawdees have now played half their games. 19 games left so that gives 57 points to play for. Safety over the last few seasons has been roughly 35/36 points. So they need 24/25 points from 57 to have a chance.

Last 8 games are:
Spurs A
Wolves H
Leicester H
Norwich City A
Liverpool H
Manchester City A
Arsenal H
Burnley A

For the Geordies the worst part of last night was Wilson out for "weeks possibly months" and Saint-Maximin with a hamstring injury. Everton up next (who have been shocking of late) by the time the recruited players start arriving they could be well adrift. The January transfer window is always hit and miss, you can have all the money in the world but if there is nothing in the shops...

Last night was a free hit for Newcastle. Their players don't need motivation against Man United.

The next game will really test their ability to get out of trouble.

Exactly this, they would have preferrred to get nothing from the game and kept their 2 best players fit. Think Teaciderr said this too.

Towards the end, I did find myself rooting for newcastle, Man Utd deserved nothing from that game, and I was shocked at how bad they were.

Haha. I was just listening to the radio on the way to co op, I didn’t know their result and the BBC were absolutely pouring over their ……….1-1 draw!! You’d think they had just won the champions league. Remember when the media was impartial?

Man United are a strange one. There must be something going on behind the scenes. I'm not sure playing 4-2-2-2 is best for their players and it seems Ronaldo's return has totally messed up their strategy.

I think the plan was Cavani up front with Fernandez, Rashford, Greenwood or Sancho supporting.

You are probably right, there must be something going on in the background.

Ronaldo is micro managing the club, as he always does. Look at how happy despite the goals juve were to see him go.

look at his visit to Ferrari that upset his team mates.

It certainly seems Ronaldo related. Man United seemed to be making progress last season and had a definite way of playing. This season they have regressed massively and look disjointed and not a team.
