visuals are very good must admit

T'missus decided no. So as we have so many other series to watch this one is gone.

The best sci-fi series by a mile. Puts anything beginning with Star to shame. The latest series has been fantastic. The character development has been exceptional, real people in believable situations. One more episode to go it's on a knife edge.
The sixth and final series starts next year.
Give it a go you won't regret it.

Started watching early this week and thought it was going to be Star Trek meets Bladerunner. Now, almost without realising, I have nearly finished season 2. Compelling. As already said, characters are excellent, and I suspect each has more depth and shades that seen so far. And the acting is great. Jarred Harris (Madmen, Chernobyl) is stand-out - and how the hell he keeps up his weird accent is beyond me. And the visuals are stunning.

There's been a few threads on it and nobody seems to have a bad word for it. I'm on series 5 and the storyline is holding up.

Amazing series. Wednesdays are the highlight of the week for me. Just a shame there’s only 1 episode left. Amos Burton is by far the best character.
Game of thrones in space is the best description I’ve seen for it. Lots of political intrigue with warring groups and factions vying for power, but with a supernatural threat lurking in the background that threatens everyone’s existence.
Just hope they don’t drop the ball like GOT did in their last season.

the best part for me is the science and technology is based on reality. No laser blasters, teleporters or warp speed. Communication between planets takes minutes, not instantaneous. Spaceships are like flying skyscrapers, with gravity being created by the forwards thrust, so if it stops accelerating they are weightless.

Can’t wait for the final episode.

Just a shame (if that’s the right expression) what’s happened with Cas Anvar.

Thanks guys , I think we’ll give it a go and watch the first one again.

seemed to be a lot going on from different directions, got confusing.
perhaps that’s the reason we didn’t ‘get’ it first time.

Love the show but not really feeling the latest series. Feels a bit more soap opera than sci fi epic.
I binge watched the first four series during Lockdown The First

I think the fact the latest season is the first properly episodic in nature (for me) has made it feel more soapy due to the time between seeing things play out. Also [minor spoiler alert] this is the first season after the culmination of the 'original' plotline, so it has diverged slightly from the direction it was taking and has broadened in scope (kind of like an expanse, if you'll forgive that crime against humour).

Not sure if that makes perfect sense but I reckon some of the earlier seasons would have felt more soapy had I not been blasting through them - they give their characters time to breathe but it can be too much sometimes.

Great show though. Well worth watching.

With the added bonus that it means you have Amazon Prime so you can also watch the full run of Archer.

Well you’ve convinced me guys. One I’ll be getting stuck into at some point!

Trailer for series 1 for anybody who, like me, had never heard of it -

It is my favourite Sci Fi show, I haven't yet caught Mandalorian 2 so there is a slim possibility that is better. After watching the first four series I bought and read all the books, the TV series follows the books closely so in the current season there is a lot of hopping about between concurrent storylines of the different characters. There is enough "extra" in the books for those to be worthwhile.

Oh and while you're on Amazon Prime try "The Boys", Superheroes rather than SciFi and just dirty fun.

I tried to get into the first season 3 times and couldn't make it stick.

Since sci-fi is my thing and the reviews are so good, I started again going straight to season 2 and it's bloody brilliant. Watched them all now.

Seems people not quite getting on with season 1 is fairly common.

Secret crush on Cara Gee her character is full of pent up emotion. Karal is going to be spaced in episode 10 even if it means Drummer losing her husband.
So many "knots to be tied" I haven't been this excited for a single tv programme for a long time
