They've managed to turn politics into sport. People have their team and they'll stick to it no matter what.
It would be depressing if it wasn't so predictable. The people who could have done something were too worried about what they might lose personally.
A few years of "you only vote Labour 'cos your dad did" was enough to push people into the idea that your politics is tribal.
Then the whole jingoistic nonsense around Brexit (not the vote itself but the symbolism - shown in stark relief now we're blaming the EU for 'new' rules which the UK were instrumental in creating).
As a nation we lack the capacity for critical thought and it's not something you can just switch on in people.
I think the hardest part is trying to understand why no-one seems to care about the persistent lies and corruption. It's not even hidden any more.

Most of that list are currently under investigation, sentencing or is alleged.
Why would Keir Starmer, or Boris Johnson for that matter, comment on them and risk prejudicing the cases?
I despair at peoples lack of critical thinking.

Starmers lack of comment is of minor or even irrelevant consideration. For that I agree with you.
