Exactly this. The tempo in our play isn't there, when we moving the ball around in front of the box earlier in the season, working from right to left and back again in our little triangles we were dragging teams all over the place and often leaving jones 1 on 1.You're right about the triangles. McGree is doing well in his own way but Crooks would get right up close to Jones and wide, as would Dijksteel. Maybe you're right, the loss of Taylor on the left has maybe reduced our ability to overload on the right. We were managing to get Jones into positions where the defender was isolated against him. I don't think it's down to other teams figuring him out, everyone knows he's been our dangerman most of the season, but we've stopped dragging teams around before playing him in.
At the moment we are taking an extra touch, not zipping the passes about and the opposition have an easier task of doubling up. That said I thought jones put one or two good low crosses in last night, the type that were resulting in Oggies earlier in the season.
