The end?

I’d forgotten that the Korean War was the only war ever fought under the auspices of the UN. To a degree it was MacArthur’s war as he went a bit rogue but his famous quote “have a good plan, execute it violently and do it today” might be very appropriate at the moment.

Interesting fact - he called his son Arthur, I mean Arthur MacArthur FFS 🙄
Maybe he was a big James Bond fan..

I believe today is day 1000 of the 3 day SMO.

Putler remains a a military genius
Now that I want to know - I can't find it - but some page I go on has the date count & think it's something like day 977.. but now I just can't find the web page... ( 978 now, as that was yesterdays report )

Your probably right, am on a bit of a downer about the conflict atm and just thought I’d throw it out there to have a pop at Putler
Know what you mean, would be good if Europe can just - finally - get its act together & back them as they need, as it will be Europe that is hung out to dry should the golfer get back in the WH..

The Georgian president has declared the result null and void, reflecting the OCSE finding that the result was neither free nor fair, and has called for popular protest tomorrow.

She was handed, personally, full EU backing, should she decide to ask for assistance.

Morning news in brief.

Big numbers again today .... 51 arty, 1660 kia, 100 vehicles, 40 APVs.
But no tanks .... go figure

First North Korean POW captured. Which is something of a headache as the Ukrainians don't have a Korean speaker on hand to process him/them.

Plenty of NK troops at the front in Kursk now, being given some unpleasant welcome gifts.

Meanwhile, it turns out that Russia really is a shower of ****.

I saw a video the other day from Russia where water was coming out of the gas valves on the hob in the person's kitchen.

A very long and exhaustive article summarising where and what the options may be post the US presidential election for the Ruzzian invasion of UKR.

I am not an economist, but my mate tells me that it is supposed to be impossible for the national bonds to trade below 100.

The index is comprised of a mixture of existing Russian government debt of maturity > 1yr. In theory, it could go down to zero! In practice, the price of existing bonds tends to fall when markets expect interest rates to rise (bond prices and interest rates are inversely related). The index trend suggests increasing domestic(Russian) uncertainty re the immediate economic outlook. It suggests they expect a further rise in interest rates, which depresses the price of existing fixed rate bonds.

I'll ask, but I suspect it's because Ukraine fell back from Vuhledar and also towards Povrosk to stronger defensive posttions.
AFAIK Ukraine has taken more territory in Russia.

Edit: Vuhledar retreat to defendable ground accounts for most of the territory. Fields basically.

Ukraine has taken 1,200km (approx) in Kursk. And much more valuable territory.
