Yet, I imagine Putin will ramp up the nuclear rhetoric very shortly as this represents another threshold reached, in his mind that is.

Better news is the Ukrainian army have more or less surrounded Lyman in Donetsk, Ukraine
As there is no escape route due to Putin not allowing a retreat - let's hope the 'problem' Ukraine has is accomodation for Russian prisoners and not burying dead Russians
 
It really is the height of cynicism. Announce mobilisation and then press gang your potential caucasus opponents into a war where they will likely be killed.
What this tells you is that he is a racist with an agenda ... and that he knows exactly what he is doing.
The flip side is that he isn't a nihilist and he doesn't intend to conscript the children of his generals and supporters in Moscow. Therefore, you have to think that he'd not be in a hurry to subject those very same people to nuclear catastrophe. It's brinkmanship in the extreme.

Russians preparing to try and 'break out' as Lyman is about to be liberated now
Ukraine have already liberated the only escape route - so that may result in a lot of Russian dead
 
Don't know how true this is but just read that Ukraine have formally applied to join NATO?

I don't believe it can whilst a country is in active conflict with another. Although I can see the rules been bent for the sake of the Ukraine. This could do one of two things, stop all fighting immediately as Russia will wimp out of fighting the likes of us, America and France for example. Or drag us all into world war 3.

Most likely the latter, it’s genuinely a terrifying prospect. I would be shocked if it’s accepted
 
The Swedish Navy have confirmed that they were in positions above the explosion sites on Nordstream 1 and 2 from Thursday to Saturday (but had left by the time they went bang on Monday). They say that they were performing surveillance. :ROFLMAO:
