So Putin has now appointed his former chief bodyguard, Alexander Dyumin, as General in charge of defending Kursk. I don't think he has much relevant experience.
So it's not Bortnikov after all (who remains in charge of the intelligence and policing side of things).

The ironic thing is any military leader who is/was even half competent in Russia is rather in Jail/exile or in the ground. The reason most of them are in jail or in the ground is that they are/where competent military leaders and posed a threat.

I'd say his best chance is to accept the terms, dodge Hague and Vamoos to Brazil.

Which is all part of the problem, he has no real escape route, he’s cornered and like rats, foxes and a lot of previous dictators that is the most dangerous he can be.

Hopefully his rag tag Generals start to disown him and his beliefs and fail to carry out any drastic measures.

They hit 3 airfields last night.
More of Kursk and Belgorod liberated. The Russians have got organisded and gathered a force of around 10,000 troops to the East of Kursk. And they are digging defence lines some 45 km inside Russia.
There's a wee bit of panic in the Moscow area .... they are fearing scouting/sabotage groups ... it won't help that one of Moscow's major shopping malls is ablaze this morning.
Dagestan is now without power.

Defence lines 45k inside Russia sounds like the start of a buffer zone.
