The end?

might stop readin this thread, it’s scaring the **** out of me about a world war happening.

Feels like we are going through a chain of events that will trigger it.

If a world war happened do you think the U.K. would introduce conscription
We will all be dead before it gets to that stage, would expect it’s all over in days with the weapons both sides have

The polls close today and Putin will speak on Friday

15% of Ukraine will likely be annexed

God knows what threats Putin will use this week but the guardian is saying the message is to Russian troops go fight and you'll be absolved of your sins if you die

Sounds like it's going to be a blood bath
Assuming at that stage putin can claim the attacks are on Russia itself which will then allow nuclear weapons and inevitably ww3

Meanwhile it looks like those naughty Scandinavians have carried out their threat against Nordstream 1&2.
Its just Nitrogen. Russians trying to line packing it to mothball it. But the fact that its leaking N2 is a massive issue for it's long term integrity. As you say....... someone could easily have put a 3mm bit to it because it had been sat empty.

Imagine spunking 11 billion Euros on something that will turn into scrap.

Could be repaired because the depth in the Danish Sector is less than 100m but no chance they'll be given access..... until they get rid of Putin and withdraw.

Ha Ha Ha.

Against the run on the poor. Against they way we are not putting windfall taxes in. They way we are not supporting the most vulnerable in scoiety. They way we are increasing poverty across many sectors. They way that this government is self harming. The striping of our basic rights.

I could go on but you get the picture
OK, thought you meant in relation to the situation in Ukraine.

There have been attacks in Crimea and a few explosions in Russia itself, so that justification for nukes would be a bit thin.
Hope so but I don’t think he needs much justification at this stage. They have essentially lost and lost badly, dread to think what his reaction to that will be

Who knows… I think anyone who tries with any certainty to tell you Putin’s mind should be largely dismissed, only his inner circle have any idea, the rest of us are guessing.

Still in preparation AFAIK, but poised to go into Zaporizhia.

The news blackout on Kherson means that stuff on twitter is mostly behind actual progress.
That is apparently good, according to the front line contact. Approx 50% of western khersoon now lierated.
The mad general has had what pontoon bridges that were in place dismantled to stop any further desertions.

What is the speculation on Nordstream 1 and 2?

Well, I was told how it was done in a jokey "It wasn't us, honest guv" way this morning.

The Swedes had mined it before the conflict started, apparently, but it might have been the dragged anchor of an ore ship, combined with explosives. Not sure how much of this was him joking. He couldn't come right out with it.

They were pretty pssed off with Germany for their cosy relationship with Putin, fostered over Nordstream.

How would this benefit the Swedes?

Btw, for those who have followed Konstantine on Inside Russia, he has, quite wisely, left Russia now.
I am glad about that as he is an industrialist in the electricity sector and my company is looking to work with him down the line.

It's safe to say it now, but he was one of our sources within Russia (privately). A very clever and well connected man. I am glad he is safe (in one of the Stans).

Putin has been issuing thinly veiled threats towards Sweden (and Finland) over recent years. Putin's grand plan involved taking Finland and Sweden. To that end there had been Russian subs making incursions into Swedish waters around the strategically critical island Gotland and Russian airforce entering Swedish air space, testing out defences and warning systems.
So Sweden was pretty ***ed off with Germany's little deal with Putin to pipe gas via nordstream. They were basically determined to prevent it., especially once Ukraine was invaded. Remember, Putin was directly threatening Sweden and Finland in those early days of the conflict. It was a threat that they took very seriously, which is why they have been very supportive of Ukraine militarily (independent troops on the ground and some serious hardware) ...

That’s good news, he was very teetering on the edge to what the Russian government deemed acceptable . He was trying to criticise without outright saying it

Only a matter of time before they arrested him if he didn’t get out there
