OK... WARNING THIS CONTAINS UPSETTING MENTAL IMAGERY.
Horrors of war.
"Progress & Collapse
For almost 3 days Ukraine managed no progress in key areas as Russia threw in wave after wave of counterattacks in a desperate attempt to stem the tide, or even try to reverse it.
To say that the fighting has been hard would be an understatement.
At Robotyne it was especially bad (for both sides).
The salient is to narrow for Ukrainian reinforcements to be effective, and Russia lacks artillery to take advantage of things and close the salient into a cul-de-sac.
With the previous forces and the 82nd taking up all the real estate the 21st could not get into action as it arrived yesterday morning.
It takes time to move a sledgehammer of that size, especially since it was alread engaging at Polohy.
Instead they got into strikes attempting to rapidly expand the width of the salient, something that Colonel Braindead should have done from day one.
With 47th and Azov storming, defending, restorming, grinding away in Urozhaine the have over 3 days finally come to the Southern Edge again, in other words, they are back where they started 3 days ago.
At the same time the 82nd Airborne has pounded their way around and closed the sack, 3 times over.
Now the town seem to be firmly in Ukrainian hands, I am somewhat sure that it will stay that way now.
It is the same thing that happened at Urozhaine.
Russia know that every village now is extremely important to hold, regardless of how insignificant it is.
Robotyne Verbove direction is where the 21st started to push and quickly made progress against the unprepared Russian units, they rapidly broadened the salient Eastwards.
At Verbove the 21st rapidly took control of the 1st Surovikin Line and ran behind it to Novoprokopivka threatening to take in into a pocket.
At the same time Nesterianka, Verbove (the village, not the defence position), Kopane, Novoprokopivka, Novoprokovka, and Zhereb'yanke.
The latter is currently being stormed by units from my second favourite colonel, note that this is near Kakhovka.
This is to further undercut their ability to leave the Castle.
At the same time horrendous videos started to emerge from a forrest that had been liberated by the 21st.
They found Russians that had been strung up upside down alive and then gutted by their own, probably in an attempt to inspire them to run ahead in meatwaves.
All of the gutted ones are Ztorm soldiers (convicts).
More respectable Russian sources are now openly talking about the frontline collapsing due to the losses incured, and the weight of the Ukrainian assault.
In the last 24 hours Ukraine poured 45 000 shells over the Russians, and they are not about to stop now, if they let up for even a second there will be more meatwave of unstrung Russians.
Even though Ukraine won the battle, do not expect things to go fast now, it is clear that Russia is more than willing to pay any price to delay or stop the Ukrainians.
They will continue to gut Russians to create meatwaves until they run out of meat to propel forward.
As and when Novoprokopivka falls that would be the second Suroviking line.
About 10km south of Novoprokopivka is the third line.
I have heard about one instance, and seen another, where an army has gone this far during a war to force their soldiers forward.
The historical example are the Khmer Rouge (Pol Pot) as Vietnam invaded to stop the madness of Khmer Rouge.
The example I saw was in Congo were Kony had child-soldiers chopped up with machetes and built a body-part pyramid.
This is the level of insanity Russia has come to.
Obviously this speaks volumes about how unwilling the Russian soldiers are to go forward in the meatwaves.
Thankfully many of them are giving up as soon as they see a Ukrainian soldier.
Quietly and behind the scenes Ukraine have asked for help with POV-camps and manning them.
It is expected that Ukraine will take close to 200 000 prisoners of war including those that they already have.
Only the wounded POVs get a ride now, the rest have to walk.
It looks like something from WWII with surrendered Germans walking down roads in endless rows dazed and staggering.
The bizarre part is that Russia flat out refuses to take them back, even if they are wounded."
