The Crow

I must have viewed The Crow through misty eyes back in 94 as I had memories of it being good, watched it recently though and it was awful.

I therefore have no expectations for the remake.
 
"Live rounds on a film set" seems like a plot from a Murder She Wrote episode. Hard to believe it could happen in real life. But it happened again recently on an Alec Baldwin movie.
 
He was killed following a squib load incident, meaning he’s was hit by a part of a bullet that had got lodged in the barrel following the firing of the gun using dummy rounds which had been improperly improvised from live rounds. When blank rounds were subsequently used the firing caused the lodged part to be discharged from the barrel.

I like the original film.

Edit: having just watched that trailer I don’t think I’ll watch the remake.

I remember the original film went to the cinema to see it, I thought it was very like Robocop. Thought the picture was very dark and Brandon Lee died halfway through shooting the film. 7 out of 10
 
I still like the original. The soundtrack and score are both immense and stylistically it's a good film, Brandon lee was generally a poor actor imo but this film immortalised him due to his death

Yeah, it's a ropey trailer and trailers usually make films look better than they are (and rarely worse).

Suspect it'll be pretty terrible.
 
I'll still watch it, I think it could be a good film in its own right but it's going to be difficult to separate it from the original, with its many quotable lines, aesthetic, soundtrack and of course the whole Brandon lee death etc, one of those hard to re-do movies. But it's possible. Original was never an Oscar winner but it is a cult classic and I still enjoy it today.

The sequels to the crow were terrible and the tv series as they tried to be too similar. I'm ok with some callbacks etc but it should try and do its own thing
