The Championship Playoffs

What’s your thoughts on how it will go ? Obviously it would be hilarious if Leeds miss out after amassing enough points to win it in most years, but do we really want them competing with us next season 🤔 Southampton may have a slight psychological advantage over them now as well having just beat Leeds on their own patch. Of the other two contenders Norwich seems to be in the best form of the lot, despite the loss to Birmingham yesterday, and maybe they could be the surprise package. West Brom’s form seems to have dropped quite badly and i think they’ll miss out. With Leeds seemingly losing form, and perhaps more importantly confidence at the business end of the season I’m going to side with the saints and back them to get back up at the first attempt on this one I think.

None of them are in any decent form, but I think Southampton or WBA will go up. I'd prefer Southampton to go up as they still have parachute payments to maintain their squad next season, whereas WBA and Norwich won't have. Leeds are financially fcucked, they owe £190m to other clubs in transfer fees, so they will likely be selling players next season if they don't go up.

Like most on here, I hope Leeds will bottle it. But if they get past Norwich, I think they would win in the final.
I just have not noticed WBA, at all. Maybe for that reason, they will just sneak through and do it to prove the mediocrity, sometimes, is the key.

I guess from our point of view next season, Southampton would be best to go up. As said above, Leeds have financial issues so may not be as competitive next season, although I remember we all thought the same regarding Burnley before last season started and they walked to promotion.
I’d love Norwich to knock Leeds out and then beyond that, I’m not too fussed

I think West brom might do it Coberan is tactically good and knows how to upset the flow of the game, 3 of the 4 managers have all been promoted previously so have the know how it just depends on the players, Leeds have the ability but they have lost it at the final hurdle when it was in there hands and that might be mentally damaging.

I think West Brom are bang average to be honest - they’ve only made top six because they have a good manager i think. Southampton have missed top two because Russell Martin isn’t that good

I to think West Brom are average but I just think they might have the ability to get over the line due the manager!

Leeds and Southampton are clearly the much better teams of the group, so it's be very suprised if it wasn't either of them who go up.

Agreed - current form may be the key to winning it though and Leeds seem to have fallen apart at the wrong time after being consistently good for the most part

Strange that no one seems to be in form in the playoffs. Norwich are highest in the form table over the last 6 matches, but are still only 12th.

However, the idea that the form team does well in the playoffs is a bit of a myth these days. The better teams as per the league table do best.

I expect a Leeds Vs Saints final, but I am leaning towards Saints and not just because of yesterday.

Definitely a difficult one to call, there’s usually a form team or a very good team that missed out, which I guess you’d say is Leeds but they haven’t looked that much better than the rest in recent weeks and seem to be feeling the pressure.

I think I’ll go with Southampton as the winner on the basis that I’m not sure Leeds can get past both Norwich and Southampton

When you look at the quality Leeds have in the forward areas you have to wonder why they haven’t got one of the top two places
