Thankfully we've had it confirmed you can dangle a leg in front of an opponent running at pace in the box, get nowhere near the ball and spin your leg away at the last second and it isn't anywhere near a foul or infringement.

I look forward to seeing this fairly and consistently applied next season...........

so it’s not a penalty if the attacking player tries to avoid the outstretched leg of the defender but if he goes forward in a straight line and initiates contact it is a penalty.
Seems we are rewarding cheating and penalising fair play to me.
