The Case for Steve Round (Assistant)

As I’m getting bored with stating I wanted an experienced coach to come in to develop and support a keen but inexperienced Carrick.

Carrick benefited from an extremely effective, free scoring Akpom who carried the team and we were all delighted to see it.

However, as soon as he faced significant challenges he didn’t seem to have any answers, that is when I would like to have seen him benefit from an experienced mentor, not matey Woody.
Was it not Woodgate that suggested Akpom might be more suited to the No.10 role in the first place?

Would love to know why Round left Arsenal without having another job. Got to be a story there. I've heard he's not a particularly likeable cheap.
Well liked by McClaren and Moyes.. did well at Arsenal and now Arteta wants to bring in someone new.

Was it not Woodgate that suggested Akpom might be more suited to the No.10 role in the first place?
He said we’d be better suited to 3-5-2 under Pulis.. and he was pushing to start Djed Spence. Liverpool jumped at the chance to have him involved with their set up when he retired from playing. Bournemouth didn’t have him as their manager just by accident.

For all those who say Woodgate failed when managing boro.. his successor Warnock didn’t! I remember Cocu didn’t do particularly well that season at Derby.. probably with a bigger budget too!

Woodgate did fail at Middlesbrough as manager.
There is no opinion required, he was utterly clueless.
I still can’t believe he is at the club again.
He did so well that he was sacked.

Utterly ridiculous to suggest he was successful.
