Means we're virtually safe, as far as I can see, unless Wigan's point deduction is overturned.
Max Charlton can get is 53.
Max Wigan can get is 51.
They play each other next.
If they draw then Wigan can't catch us, if one wins then the other can't overtake us.
If Barnsley lose tomorrow then I think we're guaranteed safety, unless my maths is wrong.
Goal difference could still keep Charlton up above us, if the other results were unfortunate.
Put a fiver on those results Gaz, if it does come off you'll get a bit of money to soften the blow, 2 games remaining & so many permutations stillI think these are the permutations that could relegate Boro should we lose our last two games...
Wigan beat Charlton
Wigan beat Fulham
Luton beat Hull
Luton beat Blackburn
Birmingham get a point against Preston or Derby
Huddersfield beat WBA or Millwall
Charlton beat Leeds
All these results need to happen.
If Wigan beats Charlton, both of them could still overtake Boro. The only scenario that sees Boro safe before the last game is Barnsley losing at Leeds and Hull drawing with Luton. Or Boro beating Cardiff of course.
Fours shots to one in Huddersfields favourTerriers beating Baggies. 1-0
Hull to get a last minute equaliser against Hull tomorrow
That would be crazy.
So if Wigan beat charlton today convincingly then we would pretty much be safe as they would then only be able to draw with us if they beat Leeds and better our goal difference.
So come on Wigan
yeh so if we rely on the Wigan points deduction the best thing for us today is for Wigan to lose
