The boro song that is sung now

Fair enough - I must've missed that. Is there a song for Howson at the moment? Or Dael Fry? Or Tav?

I dont know why no one has come up with go .. go johnny go go go

Jonny Clayton came out to it at the Darts last night in leeds (what a leeds w*nkfest that was)

The best song we’ve had since the Karanka one and I’d say the majority of younger fans love it, so perhaps it’s a nostalgia thing for most of this board?

Crooks does need to score an actual belter soon though.

A favourite of mine is the ‘in 86 we nearly died, from Ayresome Park to the Riverside’, just wish we were in a comfortable enough position to sing it!

For the boro all night long....
na na na na na

sounds like

"baby giving up
giving up
baby giving up"

from

KC and the Sunshine Band>>>>

Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na
Baby give it up
Give it up
Baby give it up
Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na
Baby give it up
Give it up
Baby give it up

Adapt it to:

Never giving up
giving up
Never giving.......

The Isiah Jones song is our best one I think - the whole stadium should sing the ah-ha though. Easy to remember and unique. Also like Howson’s Na na hey hey. I’d love to hear a creative Dijksteel one!

Overall I love the oldies - glad come on Boro has made a recent comeback, can’t beat Boro, Boro, Boro, Boro, Boro, Boro and Skies are Grey.

I don't think I've heard that one. Is it a thing?
TBH I’ve only heard it sung at Scunthorpe away circa 2009 a certain mr Johnson scored (he has since been cancelled ) but it stuck in my memory since. Not going to many aways (now) I may be thought it was a thing - must be mistaken

Woke up this morning feeling fine
I’ve got promotion on my mind
Wilders taking us up like he said he would
Oh yeah
Something tells me I’m into something good
I was wondering the other day why this song doesn't get sung anymore but maybe its because the season we sang that was a complete damp squib. I dunno, are we a superstitious bunch?

The 'In 86 we nearly died song' definitely deserves another outing regardless of whether we go up. Its a fantastic song.

It's definitely being sang too much per match now, but I personally think it's a great chant.

Variety would help, but it's better than sullen silence.

I think all sports chants wear thin after a bit, but the beauty is in their simplicity (and so the older folks can keep up 😉) so it’s just how it goes for me. I catch myself singing about crooky’s hair at home but then get fed up with it at the match when it’s all I’m hearing.
Ce’st la vie
