The Boat

Style over substance for me, brave of the BBC to run with it on primetime (a positive step) but didn't think the plot/writing was great. Characters veered just the wrong side of caricatures I think.

My thoughts are the opposite. Get that it polarises opinion. Preposterous plot of course but very enjoyable and loved it. Didn't find the characters in the least bit cliched.

I didn't get past the police station scene. Just OTT and ridiculous, and I'm no Mary Whitehouse or anything. Just doesn't fit for me.

Yep, I by no means think it's bad just not really my type of programme. I actually think it's a positive step that the BBC are taking by commission it, for years the BBC dramatic output has been quite hackneyed and "of it's type". Looks like they're willing to take more risks, which is a good thing.

Still light years behind the American networks, particularly HBO, though in my opinion.

I thought it was one of the most original things we've had on Tv for a while, very quirky delivery, Tarantino meets Fargo but very enjoyable. Even my OH who generally doesnt like anything gruesome or violent enjoyed it, but did turn away in a few scenes.

It was so off the wall I loved it
Just seeing Fairbrass in Redcar calmly watching sea was a cathartic moment.😊 it had a touch of the tarantino about it....slightly odd but I'm good with that
