The best thing about tonight's performance

We deservedly won the match against top quality opposition by playing our own game. We weren't scared and sat back like the pundits thought we would. We played the game the way we wanted to play it. It is massively impressive that Wilder has got us to this point already that we are comfortable and confident with our identity and the way we play.

It would have been very easy to get frustrated with not having a shot on target in the first half but at no point did we get desperate and start flinging hopeless balls into the box. We were patient, waited for openings, pressed where we needed to, regained possession and transitioned in midfield on numerous occasions and working overloads out wide to create clear chances. Even the subs coming on and fitting in and playing the same way. Coburn's goal coming from that source.

Credit to Wilder for transforming us into a team that knows what it wants to do, knows how to play to do it and is a joy to watch.

I know spurs had a few good chances and lumley made some great saves but we bossed the match against spurs.
I reckon conte is gone shortly….
Spurs don’t look like a team to me…

If I were a spurs fan I’d be distraught with the manner of that performance….
Don’t get me wrong, we were brilliant!!!!

The best thing about tonight's performance.

Is that it takes me back to my childhood and how and why I fell in love with the Boro.

Tonight equals the highs of walking on the Ayresome Park pitch hand in hand with my dad
after beating Oxford Utd 4-1 and gaining promotion from the third division all those years ago.
I just wish he was still alive to share in this wonderful moment.
I do know though that he will be rocking away with all the other Ayresome Angels in heaven.

Agree with this and it was interesting that Danny Murphy on several occasions said we should try and go a little more direct. I thought, no, we are playing how we are comfortable playing, and it will reap rewards eventually. You could see what we were trying to do and spurs couldn't stop it in the end.

A truly great performance all round.

A truly wonderful post.

Typical wilder performance we keep possession and get stronger and stronger as the game goes on with the self belief we are going to win. Not only were we the better team but we were fitter and stronger in every department

They're whore's drawers at the mo, but there's a really good team there (and has been for twenty years :))

I said the same

We never chased the win as you said we stuck to our game plan and played our own game. We let the game come to us.

Connolly & McGree’s Support from the stand
Lumley Running Down the Right Hand Side
Leo & Olusanya’s Teamwork
Josh Coburn being the hero!
Steve Gibson’s crying at the final whistle xx
Me beeping the spurs bus on the way home!

Yeah, same for me mate, got that old Boro feeling back, up there with those great Boro games last night, what an appointment Wilder has been to remould this team and get the belief back, what a performance.
