The best parmo in the Boro

Anyone tried the food/parmos at The George? From what I’ve read the lad gets a mix of stick and praise for some of the stuff he’s tried but does the food match the publicity?

If you are looking for decent pub food vibe try The Chairman on Bedford street.

There is a place next door (Bedford social I think) that does food but I haven’t tried it.

Decent beers round there too 👍🏼
Probably where I'll head to. As you say decent beers. I just wasn't sure what was still open.

Also next door is Rountons coffee shop who also have a decent menu.

On a serious note where's best to eat on Saturday before the game. I've not been to Middlesbrough since February 2020so I have no idea what is still open/operating (TA is pretty fcuking useless). Not for a Parma but a decent lunch.

btw. I'd rather not have to walk up to the @r$e end of Linny Road either.
I'm hearing good things about Rio's the new steakhouse next to Holiday Inn, gonna give that a try soon.

Another shout for the Prickly Pear, I’ve only been once but have been craving to go back for more! Bit out of the way though from the town centre.

We went last week, evenings are £29.99pp for a good selection of meats, its normally a salad buffet but, because of covid, we chose our salads from a menu. You then sit at your table and each person has a card, green one side and red the other. Turn it to green and the waiter will come with a skewer of meat and slice whatever you want. Red and they leave you eat. The steak cuts were really nice as was the lamb and gammon. I wasn't to keen on the belly pork though.
The chips and bread are complimentary, and there's a 2 hour time limit.
PS I'm not really one for parmos but I haven't had a bad one from the Tipsy Cow

I went to prickly pear and got the 5 parmo platter. It was too much food. All really nice. I think the top priced ones were too much in terms of what goes with a parmo

lamb kofta one wasn’t great, rest were very tasty though
