The Bashir interview

Do the powers that be think they will make people think twice about what the context of the interview was.

What did Princess Diana tell Panorama?

The interview, broadcast in late 1995, was a huge scoop for the BBC - never before had a serving royal spoken in such candid terms about life in the Royal Family or relationships with other royals.
In the interview, Princess Diana:
  • admitted having an affair
  • said Prince Charles's affair with Camilla Parker Bowles (now his wife, the Duchess of Cornwall) had made her feel worthless
  • spoke of there being "three of us" in the marriage
  • said she had had bulimia and self-harmed
  • suggested Prince Charles might not be able to adapt to being king
  • said Prince Charles's staff were waging a campaign against her
More than 20 million people watched the interview and it caused huge controversy.
Shortly afterwards, the Queen wrote to Prince Charles and Princess Diana telling them to divorce.

Prince William has gone at the BBC in a video statement released earlier. Smoked them.

Seems to think that the time when Charles wished he was a tampon had no bearing on Diane.
Nice of him to remind us all that his mother was paranoid.

Power corruption and lies at the BBC. They might be sued but they don't give a toss about money. After all its not theirs.
The royals don't care about money for the same reason (almost)

Its about the BBC getting away with fraud and oppression.
Anyone following the alex Belfield drama will know there are bigger things going on at the BBC but I doubt there's many here that are due to him being slightly right of most

I think another step has been made towards de-funding the BBC. That's the main prize. Get t rid of this most unfair of taxes.

Power, corruption and lies sums the country up pretty well. It's how the nation operates.

Interesting watching the usual suspect elements of the Murdoch and co. media dangling on the self erected wobbly ladder of righteousness.
My Nan would have said.... it’s just like the pan calling the kettle grimy ärse

I S'pose a rehashed story about the 'Queen of THearts' - keeps 'Randy Andy' off the front pages - Whilst ensuring that the BBC plays the party line and does as its told by Betty Windsor and the Government.

She is head of the BBC (by Royal Charter). I presume she'll resign over this.
Shes head of a lot of things by name only - mostly

You need a list. ? To imply she is chief executive of the BBC is fanciful.

DEFUND THE BBC NOW. And remove these linekar Zoe Ball Graheme Norton Jeremy Vine Naga plus many more no marks

A interview from over 25 years ago, headline news, what is this country coming to.
Well as Earl Spencer said there is a direct line of events from that interview to her death. And its fair to conclude that her death might not have occurred if it had not been for that fraudulently obtained interview which led to her professional security being removed. Thats another story and it could be argued that the removal of her security by the Queen was a bigger factor in the accident than the interview.

Will Bashir be prosecuted for deception/fraud.? I doubt it. Wouldn't even be surprised if he got a big pay off for offering his 'resignation'
