The 1st ashes test

For God's sake move your feet. Playing defensely with the bat so far from your body you are always going to get in trouble.

I only got up for an old man's wee. A visual representation of another collapse for anyone in a similar position😕....

Just walking home from the pub talking about this, mate said Root doesn't bat the second day after a good knock. Is he right?
Not according to the stats, Andy Zaltzman said last night something like in all the times Root has been not out overnight, 6 times he’s added at least 50 and 5 times he’s added at least 90. Which makes this even more galling!!!

Said in my group in WhatsApp we’ll lose a wicket first half an hour and collapse
Yep pretty much the feeling most of my mates had, one of them even had a few quid on us to still lose by an innings. Sometimes being a bl00dy optimist is a pain in the **** 🙈

It’s just all so predictable for this team

unlucky on his bet, almost got it

Has there been word on why Livingstone doesn't get a look in? Would add depth to the batting also. Really can't see Leach or Bess offering anything.

YES. Ollie Robinson's wicket summed up the problem for me. Meekly spooning a catch attempting a reverse sweep that is better served in a T20. Remind Robinson that this is a 5 day Test Match
If we are relying on Robinson to score runs then there is something wrong with the batting further up the order.

The decision not to play Anderson Broad was where we lost this test.

To be fair he's pretty new on the England scene in white ball. He just appeared after years on the county circuit.

I've never even seen him mentioned as a test player. I guess he's another big hitter. Also a world of difference bowling 4-5 overs to bowling 5 times that on a day and doing it again.

That said he's handy being able to spin it both ways dependent on left or right handed batsman.

Just imagine if we had Rashid instead of Leach? Unfortunately he has no interest in playing red ball and I frankly don't blame him.

We need to at least match their first innings total to have any chance, that means scoring another 200 plus.....can't see it unless both these get big hundreds and Butler, Pope and Stokes all chip in. Can see a typical England collapse tomorrow morning and Australia not having to bat again, but hope I'm wrong and good to see some fight at last.
Well almost as 'predicted'...suppose we made them bat again....hope this is the end for Mr Burns and his ridiculous pony tail!
