Terry Hall

Aww man Terry in the Specials started my love of SKA music in early 80s then I loved fun boy 3 and the colour field. Fookin hell he must only be early 60s . Proper gutted here . Was only the other year he dj'd the big ska weekend at coatham hall in redcar. Class night . Memories are made forever . RIP Terry Hall 😢

Christ it makes u think . I'm coming up 51 soon . How long got left . Live life and love life . Feel sick thinking bout it 🥶

Terry Hall will always be one of my musical heroes, bit of an outlier but my favourite stuff was with The Colourfield, Virgins and Philistines would be amongst the most played albums of my life and She from Deception, a song that will forever be ingrained in my heart, his music, principles and unique vocal style made him first amongst equals, a terribly sad day but one that will cause us to reflect and rejoice on the glorious archive that was his gift to us all.

This is for me the worst "celebrity" death I've known in my lifetime . From the age of 10 in "82" to thos day onwards I love Ska music and Terry Hall with The Specials then Fun Boy 3 and even the colourfield are always music ill turn to when sick of listening to other stuff . Seeing him in redcar just few year ago makes it even worse . 63 is no age . Hope this awfulness brings SKA back to the forefront of music if only for a while

Absolutely devestated about this, Terry was my favourite songwriter of all time. His first solo album Home is a work of genius.
Rip Terry 🙏
Thank you for mentioning this solo album Randy . Never knew it existed . Just found it on YouTube. Will listen to it when get chance ... please tell me what styles I can expect from him on this album . Look forward to checking it out .. oh and what year was it released

Hi Billy it was released in 1994 and is just a brilliant pop album. The lyrics and vocals on the album are up there with his best for me. I hope you enjoy it as much as me.

Need wifey to have early night so can listen thoroughly with no whinging about "what u listening to now " haha . Saying that she loves all Ska like me so hope it's got shades of it what with Terry singing. He's surely still melancholic yeah

Absolutely gutted.
I’m to young to have been involved in the original ska/2 tone scene but the specials are my favourites bands. Them and ub40.
I wish I was around to experience it.
So glad I seen them both the last time they were in Middlesbrough.
RIP Terry. 🖤 🤍 🖤
