Teesside Airshow… more like Teesside **** Show. After contemplating waiting another hour to get in (after queuing for 2 hours) and then the thought of doing the same to get home we gave up. The A67 is backed up to Yarm High Street.

Mrs is stuck on the A66 trying to get over to Darlington for appointments, she is fuming. Hadn't moved an inch in 45 minutes.

That sounds like a terrible attempt at organising an event, fingers crossed nobody is in desperate need of the emergency services around there.

Yeah if only they had put a warning out saying to expect delays and set off earlier etc.

Should have opened Teesside airport train station and had shuttles from all over Teesside, similar to how the tall ships operated in Hartlepool.

We are parked up near the air ambulance having a picnic having chucked the towel in with the queues.

It was limited to 20,000 tickets wasn't it? How many cars? You'd assume a lot of families of 3 or 4 in one car?

So 6000-8000 cars to get in there?

7,500 parking places and what looks like zero traffic management plan.

My sister turned back after 2 hours sat on the A66.

Glad I didn't bother now.

We waited one hr on A67 then turned round. Saw the spitfire in the air anyway. Now having chips and beer in Yarm instead. No traffic in Yarm.

Long newton more or less clear, abandoned cars everywhere!

Eaglescliffe also clear .( A67 from Tesco roundabout to airport has been clear for about 1 1/2 hours but was gridlocked from 11am )
