Ted Lasso

I had a free apple subscription and watched the first 2 series was alright.
That subscription has now ended and i haven’t bothered to attempt to seek out a way of watching the 3rd.

Yes very similar but nowhere near as good as Ted Lasso. As the Guardian at the time put it First Team was a sitcom fit for relegation.
Yeah it was very average. But I watched it just before Ted Lasso I think and by the time I was halfway through series 1 of Ted Lasso I just felt a bit bored of the genre and couldn’t really understand the hype. Maybe it was timing but I’ve never felt compelled to go back to it.

Some of it is the best TV I have ever watched. The levels of p1ss taking is fabulous. Football, philosophy, American view of the English, the English view of Americans. Religion, self-help, Wrexham.
Character development based comedy is hard. Well play d.
Love that the Roy Kane actor is a writer that sent his own demo reel in when flying back to the UK with a note saying if you think I can do this get in touch, if not don't ever mention it again.

Yeah, some of it isnt awesome but come on the best bits are outstanding. Makes me miss Richmond upon Thames too.

It is my favourite thing on TV at the minute. The actual football action and bits surrounding the game has been dwindled down and its more about the characters now, but its really good. The heartfelt speeches from Ted with the dramatic slow zoom are a thing of beauty, character development and they touch on alot of subjects like homosexuality nd racism/immigration as of late - handling these subjects really well

Not really enjoyed the 3rd series. I read an article which I can no longer find in, I think, the Guardian, which was exactly how I thought about it. The gist was that what made the 1st series so good was that it was essentially a classic workplace comedy with all these different/contrasting characters interacting with each other. It's now expanded because all of those characters have their own stories so it's 10 workplace characters, interacting with new characters in their own situations which leaves less room for comedy.

It's still watchable but it's lost a bit of what made it good in the first place.
