Even if someone doesn’t rate him, they’ve surely got to agree that starting Crooks over him is a poor choice. Crooks can be effective coming off the bench but his lack of mobility and technical ability really hinder him

McGree was picked and started at WBA, he was our worst player that day by a country mile, often leaving his left hand side, chasing the ball like a school kid. was surprised he made the start of the 2nd half, but was rightly hooked by Carrick 10 mins later.
He hasn't started since, if he gets another start, then he must improve from that game.

The only player not picked today, who deserves a start is Jones.

Howson has been massively off the mark since he came back, should we drop him as well and let him fight his way back into the team?
 
I like McGree, but it's unfair and inaccurate to say that Crooks has been picked over him. They are fighting for different positions in the team and Carrick, no doubt for his own good reasons has preferred somebody else in his position today. It looks like it could be Hackney, but we'll find out soon.

Can only improve. He’s also played well in the games in the cup from the bench. He should be in this team but i don’t mind Hackney from the left it worked last season in some games so hope he does well again.
 
I would absolutely love it (Keegan face on) if Crooks won us the game today.
The lad gets immense disrespect from some on here.

We have a big squad that lacks clear quality.
I'm not sure any of us can say what the team should be, especially at this stage.

I'm more bothered about Carrick than I am individual players. I think he might go onto be special. I'm not sure any of our players will (exc Hackney).

Yeah I’m not a fan of the Crooks bashing. It’s a bit over the top. Hope he has a belter and scores a goal.

I don't think Gilbert is going to be involved in the short term unless we are low on numbers
I'm guessing Smith is injured and Engel (as well as 3rd choice keeper Jones) is the one to miss out from the main first team squad until January
No idea when Dijksteel will be back , and Clarke presumably nowhere near ready yet
 
Surely it’s not Hackney from the left? He’s the best midfielder at the club. He should be playing there, not shunted out wide to accommodate others.

(Hoping that posting something like this ensures we win 2-0 and Hackney gets MotM)
