Dijksteel for Ayling is logical but won't happen for some reason. We need pace at the back. After only a few games teams are rightly targeting Ayling. He gets left flagging time and again.

That's the team I'd pick
Definitely Howson over O'Brien
If we do pick that team I think he'll play Forss out wide and Greenwood up front - though as you say that 4 can go a few different ways

Dieng should return ASAP.
Thomas has to start. He made a promising debut. Engel needs chasing.
Hackney has to play CM. Barlaser has to be out.
Forss has to play CF, we have no serious alternative right now.
McGree has to start. I’d prefer him LM, it’s where he is best, but if Forss plays CF and Jones is injured we have nobody to play RM.
Greenwood can play LM
Azaz will start at 10 he can’t play anywhere else.

I’d play Howson with Hackney. It’s the pair that plays best together.
I have no idea whether Dijksteel is fit.

Why are you picking a player in Azaz that has no talent or ability though? 🤔
 
Actually I think Barlaser has played significantly better on our road games versus home games so I’m not totally in favour of him being dropped. One thing is for sure we need to step it up, be more aggressive and find a way to start scoring.

That would mean only Howson in for O’Brien. Honestly if that’s the only change then I would be worried about his judgement. I hope he’s realised his mistakes and picks the best eleven available.

Howson and McGree have to come in. If we’re sticking with 4-2-3-1, I think this is the best we can do at the minute…
