Team Tomorrow

The team pretty much picks itself until Bola and McGree are in the mix.

It's interesting how we will keep 3 loan forwards happy. I imagine they all have certain game time assurances etc.

I imagine Sporar has done enough to continue leading the line tonight. So the only real decision is Connelly or Balogun. I guess it's who's impressed most in training.

I wasn't at the Reading game. Yet my mates say Balogun looked 'like he had real quality' in his cameo. Although also said Connelly did well and looked a threat on the shoulder. So god knows 😂

I've not seen enough of either of the two new loan forwards to have an opinion who's 'better'. I doubt anyone does.

Was surprised at Balogun's starting position against Reading, more often than not he was on the left touchline.

I'd expect Sporar and Connelly again - Connelly does seem very similar to Watmore so as mentioned above not sure we'll play both in a 2.

Think McGree will work himself into midfield as well, but not just yet. Might need to wait until we get beat before he gets his chance.

Mgree will do well to work his way into midfield from Australia ;)

that's pretty much it. Balogun we saw that he has vision and touch, can create space for those around him, no idea yet if he will be a goal threat, or just creative for Sporar. Connelly was definitely making good off the shoulder runs, but is Sporar the man to play it through for him, or make runs that get Connelly free one-vs-one? It may even be that Balogun and Connelly are a better pairing once settled in? 🤷‍♂️

I think that is just his natural game, to work the channels and come in from wider, rather than out wide being his position. Need to see a bit more of him though to really judge that

We went 4-2-4 to get all the forwards on. He’s a tendency to drift left anyway but in the main he will be used central

Very good point, forgot about that - think we ended up with 8 up top at the end :)

And it worked!
e certainly had 6 in the box for the final goal plus Jones putting the cross in.....can't remember the last time a Boro side got that many bodies in the box, I think we got less in teh box for corners under Warnock

I don't think there'll be any combination that doesn't work really. All capable of playing together.

Obviously not seen much of Balogun or Connelly but would've thought Connelly is more like Sporar than anyone (out and out striker) and Balogun more like Watmore in that he can also play out wide?

Positionally anyway. In terms of style, they're probably all quite a bit different which can only be a good thing surely.
