Taxi For Heckingbottom

Just seen his post match interview. Throwing everyone under the bus but himself. He’s gone

Sheffield United boss Paul Heckingbottom to BBC Sport: "The game plan wasn't to dangle two legs in two tackles and then allow a delivery into the box.

"We picked a team we thought was experienced, aggressive and could manage these situations. To start the game like that put us on the back foot. The second goal was poor too.

"We've given Burnley the advantage they need. A huge lack of discipline and we've gone down to 10 men."

On Oli McBurnie's red for two bookings: "I've not seen the first, I've seen the second. If they're two yellows there's nothing we can do about it anyway.

"It's a bit different when you're already on a yellow. You have to be careful. We all know that. The game has changed. We can't appeal or look at it. You can't afford to do that."

On the triple change at the break: "Some things weren't good enough. It was more about which shape would keep us in the game. We did what we wanted and then were were sloppy. One or two didn't manage the situation, the occasion and it became really difficult.

"The first 30 seconds contributed hugely to that.

"Sometimes players can play their way out of the team. Too many today, the players know what I think, one or two know we've been let down today."

Seemed rather composed post-match.
Expected him to be usual full of excuses.
Perhaps his Gabardine Mac and Holdall were just out of sight of the camera?

He will be gone by Monday morning for sure. Out of his depth
Has been since he took over. Tried to copy Wilder (and failed pretty badly). Bloke is a massive fraud. League 1 for him next I reckon.

Reappointing Wilder would cause mass hysteria round these parts. Can't see it happening.

Pretty sure he will be gone this week but they didn’t help him signing very little and selling your best player just before the season started.

Just watched MOTD.

McBurnie looked like he wanted to be sent off. Two stupid elbows.
Rest of the team just looked like they wanted to lose. No fight, just strolling around.

If your team gets beat 5-0 by Burnley, then your time as a manger is up.

Another case of the players getting the manager the sack and receiving no come back themselves.

Yep, 'cos it was a straight red. I think he was lucky the second wasn't as well.

When I saw Burnley line up like this for the kick off, I thought I'd been transported back to Plough Lane in the 80's.

Not sure it'll catch on.

Blaming the owners now,

"Sheffield United boss Paul Heckingbottom says the club are suffering after making "financial rather than football decisions" to sell key players in the summer."
