Surprised at the lack of joy and excitement on here

I’ve not posted up to now but I’m delighted we survived, after Swansea I thought we were finished and I think it was really important that we stayed up independently of the Wigan situation.

I celebrated both goals last night in the back room as if we were at Wembley, I thought Britt’s late winner was the perfect way to finish the season.

With the Boro we always have our ups and downs, avoiding League One was important, we haven’t spent much of our 144 years at that relatively low level and nor should we.

Yes we need to do better but we won this season’s battle and I’m happy to celebrate that.

For me it's more about what's to come. A complete makeover in terms of staff, players, philosophy or just more of the same, recruitment, spending, low cost poor quality players?
If it's the former bring it on, the latter I'm tired of.

Good post HC 👍

I don't really feel excitement just now: this is not exactly a brave new world is it?

As for joy, I think that peaked after the Reading match. We were all but certain we were safe, so last night wasn't exactly Newcastle 1990.

I would be joyful and excited but I’m constipated. I guess it might be quite exciting when that lets loose and I imagine I’ll be joyful afterwards but right now, not so much. Sorry.

Having been put through the mill all season, the only feeling I had after the match last night was one of utter relief. And I feel no different this morning. What I will say is that having just seen the Warnock interview on the local news referring to what he believes the club needs, I am feeling optimistic for the season ahead!

Lets all just hope it's given Gibson a shock and we won't be having any more experiments for a while......

The threat of relegation was a dark shadow hanging over me, you and the club, but by last night it was a very long shot. The quick Leeds goals also calm the nerves. If it was essential we had to get a result I would have been very nervous.

NW did a good job is keeping everyone calm. He was losing players left right and centre and he just said no problem lets get on with it.
